He doesn't pronate the wrist, but instead throws from a dorsi-flexed wrist on the backswing to a palmar-flexed wrist after releasing the ball. This is the power of the golf-swing brought to the football throw. And something I've been telling players to try. I also refer to this motion as the Tomahawk Throw (a version thereof).

Harbaugh will clean that Tebow like release up but thats some special arm strength. I think he'll redshirt and by his 3rd year he should be competing for the starting spot. A ton of talent under center coming to Michigan though.

Lugowski what about Dylan McCaffrey coming up, that's gonna be one of hell of a battle, because I think Peters will get the starting job next year
@flyinlikelions7 жыл бұрын
Peters certainly has the inside track to take over in a couple years but if Speight turns it around remember he's just a junior.
@nathanbritenfeld81617 жыл бұрын
Lugowski no he's a senior, but he's redshirted, so he does still have a couple years IF he stays (which he most likely will) if he doesn't then we shoukd redshirt macaffrey and have Milton as the backup I'd say

He seems to have a bit of a wind up when he throws but it looks to me like it could be tightened up. Young players seem to think that when they throw for power they need more arm motion and technique can correct that. Overall once they get their hands on him at UofM he could very well blossom into a legit stud who could contend for titles and awards. Love his size and his dual threat ability. He's isn't fast as far as 40 times go but with his size when he gets going he will be a load.
@NoLoVeLoStNoLoVfOuNd5 жыл бұрын
Joe is gonna be a game changer. He needs the chance that’s all. I can see it in him. He reminds me of Dallas cowboy situation how Tony Romo sat on the bench and Prescott showed what he got and turned it all around. He just needs the chances. Jim just needs the balls to make it happen.

Needs to tighten up that throwing motion. I know, I know, he's still in high school but it's never too early to fix your game. The college game is too fast to have that long wind-up. Love the power though, he can gun it into some tight spots. But again, the college players will turn those long wind ups into INTs. Glad to have you in A^2, Joe! Go Blue!

In the near future, he will play in a game against wisconsin. He will throw for 98 yards, 2 ints 0 tds, get benched and a true freshman will come and go 3 for 3 and a td on his first drive. He will pave the way for michigan getting destroyed 49-11 against a team who hadn't played a game in 3 weeks. Overrated.
@View9347 жыл бұрын
44% completion rate?.....Watch Shea Patterson throw......Milton winds up before he throws, that's why so many interceptions. Defenders can see that and have a split second earlier to react. Patterson's release is way fast, he gets the ball out 60% faster than this guy........Go Blue.
