Joe Montana certainly didn’t have the biggest arm ever. But he was really smart. And he had this interesting rhythm to him went he dropped back. Take his drop, hit his back foot, make a beautiful weight transfer, then throw with a smooth throwing motion, on target - usually. It actually kind of looked like choreographed ballet maybe. I’ll bet he worked on that a lot. But I was a big Dan Marino fan and it took me 30 years to forgive Joe for taking down my boy Dan in the Super Bowl, I think in 84 or 85. But to this day Joe still maintains that Dan was the best quarterback ever. Dan was certainly entertaining to watch with that Golden Arm.
