These older songs bring back so much memories of my dad in the 99 dodge ram. This song has always reminded me of my mother and how she abandoned me, my dad, and my older sister for some guy half her age and has kids with him and abandon them too. I guess all of us have a song that reminds us of our parents and this one just reminds me of the horrible woman I unforntunly have to call my mother. I still l've this song to much to not listen to because of that and always though Joe Nichols was cute. May we never forget the few years in late 90's and early 00's of awesome country music!!

He wore that cowboy hat to cover up his horns Sweet talking forked tongue had a tempting charm Before I turned around that girl was gone All I can say is bartender pour me something strong Here's to the past they can kiss my glass I hope she's happy with him Here's to the girl who wrecked my world That angel who did me in I think the devil drives a Coup de Ville I watched them drive away over the hill Not against her will, I've got time to kill Down in Brokenheartsville It was long and chrome sittin' in the lot Fire engine red that thing was hot He revved it up she waved goodbye Love's gone to hell and so have I Here's to the past they can kiss my glass I hope she's happy with him Here's to the girl who wrecked my world That angel who did me in I think the devil drives a Coup de Ville I watched them drive away over the hill Not against her will, I've got time to kill Down in Brokenheartsville Here's to the past they can kiss my glass I hope she's happy with him Here's to the girl who wrecked my world That angel who did me in I think the devil drives a Coup de Ville I watched them drive away over the hill Not against her will, I've got time to kill Down in Brokenheartsville

Listening to this one makes me nostalgic for 2004. I was 11 then and loved this song. I was the quirky kid who brought car buying guides to summer camp and the Coupe de Ville line was my favorite. I wondered why he was talking about a car that went out of production the same year I was born. I had only the simplest understanding of what the song was about, but I liked it. Still here 16 years later. September 17, 2020 4:30 am

I met him for about a minute when he was at our county fair, 2006 I think it was. I was the dork on crutches. I shook his hand, but I couldn’t speak! My voice totally froze ! To this day I think at one point he was trying to give me his hat but I didn’t realize at the time. I remember some girl threw her bra on the stage and when he saw it he blushed. I asked my mom after if she’d noticed what I did and she said she did- he’d had eyes on me through a lot of the concert, and when he sang “I’ll wait for you” when he gets to the part where he speaks the word sweetheart, he looked STRAIGHT at me. My mom even saw it. Damn I felt special that night. Even though I was the 21 year old dork in braids and on crutches.
