So much goes by in everyday life that it seems to take a lot to makes us appreciate the people who are truly gifts to us. Coach Paterno and his wife Sue are two such people. Their enormous love for Penn State and their community helped thousands of students, touched countless lives, and made all us so proud of them. The sweet sadness of all of this is that even through all the pain he endured at the end, a great man never stopped loving and giving to the place he called home for over 60 years.

Joe, thank you for everything!!! I still remember our party walking downtown in a snowstorm after the Fiesta Bowl in '87 and tackling a friend on a snow covered College Ave. that eve (we brought the football, ya know!);). What a celebration, like Times Square on New Years Eve. Wish I was there for the service and stadium light up. I know you saw it... Thanks man I am proud to be a PENN STATER!!!!!!

Joe Paterno inspired my older brother to play football, he was the reason he pushed himself so hard this past season to try to get a scholarship for Penn State. Sadly my brother can't play football anymore(medical reasons), but he is still going to Penn State wearing a shirt that says Joe Pa forever on it. Joe was a coach like no other and Penn State will never be the same. I just hope this upcoming season the kick some butt in his memory. RIP. A true legend.

And then that is when I remember that they have nothing better to do with their lives but sit here and talk bad about a great man they didn't even know. This is the last comment before I go back to my productive life (instead of wasting my time commenting on videos) - something that Joe taught me how to lead through hard work and dedication. RIP Joe. You were human, and made mistakes just as we all do. We can learn a great deal from your life if we look at both the good and the bad.

What a towering figure, and a credit to America. I wish I could have met him in person, while he was still with us. That some would blame Coach Paterno for the actions of someone else baffles me. Would that I could be even half as good a man as Joe Paterno.

Part 2of3: That teacher takes the matter before the Principal who is a legend in the teaching community & highly respected for graduating more students than any other principal in the state. She passes the information on to her dean of discipline and vice principal and they send it on up to District director of Public schools minimizing the situation and making sure that the teacher is given every courtesy while not informing you.

I got confused by those people who dislike. what makes you a hater of this legendary but fallen hero? the background music? the victory PSU football over your colleges? Excuse me, are you kidding me? You hate him because of the kids abuse, but why do you expect a 70 year-old man to be perfect? He did what he was supposed to do, but why do you think someone have higher moral standards than others while you could have done the same? Take off your fake humanity masks and let this man rest in peace.

Thank you for getting it. It is not personnel against Paterno. The false image he created & others are willing to continue to promote are intellectually dishonest & shameful. Most of the PSU family is suffering the realization that Joe wasn't the man he said he was, that is sad. I hope we all pray for first the victims & then the lost souls that allowed this to happen & didn't stop it. I pray they repent & admit their wrong so we can all heal. God bless you & yours

The people who are leaving hate are just pathetic. He was a legend. The fact is whatever happened with the Penn State scandal has not even been talked about yet.He has been doing Penn State good for how many years? and you think that should be taken away from him? I think not! We don't even know what happened at all. The only thing that you know is what the media tells you.You treat it as Joepa is just as guilty as the accused person and he is not at all.
