I had the strongest crush on Joe Perry when I was in high school at 15 or so. I would always try to style my hair like him, even wanted to start collecting guitars like he did but was not in my budget, LOL. Anyway, he was a real idol of mine, and I'm SO glad he didn't get himself mixed up with groupies - it's something I always wondered about. I always thought it would be something that just comes with that kind of life, since they did drugs after all, so what's not to say they can't do a few groupies too? But I'm glad to know he stayed away from it. He's a real class act!

In the movie The Decline of Western Civilization Part 2, director Penelope Spheeris asks Joe and Steve what they think about groupies, Steve says 'I love 'em' and Joe says 'Amazing, they're a part of the lifestyle (or something to that effect). Also, an 80s groupie who wrote a book claims to have had an encounter with him. Maybe he just didn't have lots of groupies and was very picky.
