He would say “mhm” and then not say anything, so Joe would keep talking. You don’t want dead air on a podcast. It’s not like he was being cut-off, he would just say “mhm” and not have anything to add.

Random Anthony Jeselnik Story Here: I worked as cashier a few years back in Alaska, met a guy with the last name Jeselnik, asked if he was related to Anthony Jeselnik by any chance. He actually said, "Yeah, he's my cousin." in which I replied, "Oh wow, that's pretty cool. I like his stand up!." in which he replied, "Fuck that guy, he's an asshole." End of story. Actually saw Joe and Anthony live at the comedy store a few years back and it was amazing. ... jeselnik has this great joke I haven't heard him tell since, it was something like, - I'm not a racist. I don't believe in separating people into groups based on the color of their skin .... because I think that god ... has already done that - the audience laughed so hard jeselnik said, "Wow, you guys are really making a meal out of that one"

Like, I never see you unless I look (or watch the good UFC fights), but whenever I do look, there's so much out there and, it all just works. I think most of them are projecting their own terrible social skills. Conversations have an ebb and flow to them and this ebb and flow is one that Joe has more or less mastered. He repeats himself a lot, sure, but who wouldn't after having put out well over 1,000 podcasts??? There's only so many untouched experiences one can spread out over such a massive amount of time
