My money that goes for tags and stamps to hunt go towards conservation. My money has went to projects to clean up and restore wetlands, short and tall grass prairies for prairie chickens. I’ve also donated countless hours, sweat and blood by donating my time and body as free labor to help with these projects and see them through.

dualspectrumreality ytilaermurtcepslaud oh I know and their total lack of self awareness about how intensive and destructive soy/corn harvesting is for the natural biome. Monoculture of food species has got to be one of the most destructive things we have invented. Spraying down fungicides and insecticides with no abandon killing entire beehives in seconds, combine harvesters turning beneficial animals like foxes, possums, and cotton tail into paste that coats their “vegan” soybeans. Like that old sausage saying, you don’t want to see how your soy chorizo(which is delicious btw) is made lol.

I’m definitely a product of inspiration from these two men along with Jocko, Goggins, Stumpf, Tim Kennedy, Adam Greentree and more. A year ago I had enough of depression and lethargy. I was struggling with being a young father and husband trying to afford a roof over my family’s head. I had a lot of responsibilities on my plate that were weighing me down mentally but I had no passions, nothing to do. I stumbled upon one of Cam and Joes podcast first, then it snowballed into more and more inspiring people I listed before. I said enough’s enough, set my alarm to 4:30am, crawled my lazy ass out of bed reluctantly, drove to the gym, and got after it. Today, I’m a 2 stripe white belt in BJJ training for 6 months so far, I shoot my bow every chance I get preparing for my first hunt, I workout every morning, and more importantly I am a happier, stronger, better father and husband because of it. I’m more fulfilled because I gave myself more challenge. I thought I was overwhelmed but I was underachieving. If you think life’s too much, do more to challenge yourself. You’d be surprised how much freedom you can experience through a little bit of discipline. Thank you gentlemen, keep hammering.

I wish I had a group of guys that encourage each other and just genuinely seem to have a great time together like Joe and his buddies. This is the first time I've seen Cameron Hanes. He seems like an all around good man. I think you guys should do like a week long JRE fan experience bow hunting trip! Do like a couple webinar bow classes to vet out entrants. Then choose like 3-5 guys to bring on a whitetail hunt or something. It's awesome hearing how pumped you guys are about the entire experience with hunting, comradery, and appreciating the wilderness/wildlife. I'd def pay to get the chance to go on a hunt like that. It would be a good way to pass along the passion for bow hunting that you guys share. I hunt rifle and muzzleloader but have never thought about bow hunting. @@joshuacrane2397 I do. Stamets is great to listen to and there are many interesting things he was talking about last time he was on JRE that I would like him to expand on. Plus, there's new things he could talk about. I don't need Stamets to be my spirit guide or whatever you implied. Though he probably wouldn't make a bad one. I watch all the videos Stamets uploads too, I like them, but they are short and to the point. I like the podcast form... even if I don't learn anything new, it's still fun to listen to. Don't assume I'm not in the woods and fields taking spore prints and measurements and whatnot. You can find me on the shroomery under the name "falling sun". I get on to try and get proper ID's and basically just checking out whatever other people find too. It's a great learning experience and fun hobby. I just like to listen to Paul Stamets talk. Cool guy. I want him back on JRE, that's all. Don't read too much into that. I'm not relying on him, I'm just appreciative of him.

I have found laughing gyms in the woods, and even blue foot in the woods but that's not what I would recommend searching for. Most new people probably couldn't identify gyms and blue foot is pretty rare. Hit the grass yards, and fields. Grazing fields if you are a beginner and don't want to mis-identify anything because psilocybe cubensis is hard to mistake for something else. Also it depends where you live but cubes are almost everywhere. But you screw up and just think you can go find trippy looking mushrooms in the woods and have fun... The majority of commercial meat ducks reared in the UK are reared in indoor systems. Typically, several thousand birds are raised together within a building. Straw is usually provided to cover the floor. Ducks are given specially formulated diets and are provided with access to water for drinking. However, farmed ducks may not be given access to an open water source for bathing, or if they do have an open water source, this may not be suitable. Some ducks, particularly Barbary ducks, may have the ends of their bills trimmed to try to reduce the risk of any damage to other birds caused by pecking. However, the most commonly used breed of meat duck in the UK - the Pekin - is not beak trimmed. Nice Hunting.

Well Joe, when talking about eating game having a much lower impact on the environment than, say, a field full of corn, you must account for the fact that eating game is not viable for an entire population. A field full of corn feeds a shitload of people, while an equally large field filled with wild nature can feed barely anyone. If the entire us population would start hunting like you do, that would be a catastrophe for North America. It’s really not viable. Obviously, the small population right now that hunts and hunts responsibly and pays for wildlife reservation is not hurting nature, but it can only grow to a certain size. The reason Europeans are so strongly against hunting is that our ancestors, over the past thousand years have completely gotten rid of most of wild nature on our continent. In North-Western Europe, where I live, there is just barely anything left. The Netherlands is the biggest agricultural exporter in the world after the US. Not per capita, but in absolute values. Just look at a map and imagine how little room there is left for nature. People in highly populated areas just cannot keep eating meat en masse, especially not transition to game. Meat consumption HAS to go down. That being said, I’m not a vegetarian. I’m eating less and less meat every weak, and I will keep on decreasing it until I’m at the lowest level that my body needs to be healthy. That is my goal, at least, as I just love meat so much that it’s pretty hard to stay away from. What I’m saying is just that you can’t look at this from one perspective without looking at the other.

There are plenty of good alternatives to meat, at least in America and the UK, not sure about other countries though. But you really don’t need animal flesh at all, you can cook mushrooms or vegetables the same way and they are just as good. Everyone has to stop eating animal products if we are going to try to save our planet.
@Grab_it_G_Rabbit

Guys, you're missing the point. He's already said he's going to cut down his meat intake lower and lower while staying healthy, and by this rate it will go to zero :P Btw, nice comment about hunting. The amount of meat we're eating right now far surpasses EVERY . WILD . ANIMAL . ON . EARTH. And that's including EVERY animal - zebras, hares, bats, rats, racoons, foxes, etc! If everyone would hunt the animal extinction level would rapidly propel to unbelievable numbers (well, the numbers today are already unbelievable but you get the point)
@Bazziebanaan
@Bazziebanaan 5 жыл бұрын
Slothy Llama Exactly. I’m not a dietitian but some people (like Joe) keep saying that you need to eat at least some meat once in a while to get certain nutrients. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ll have to look more into it. The point, however, was indeed not that you need to eat meat. I was pretty clearly saying that we have to drastically lower our meat consumption and that Joe’s stance on meat is not really feasible.
