I am 83 years old, David's house was on my route in the late '70's (I was a mailman). He didn't know me, but I always remembered walking to the door and speaking with his pet dog. His dog was the most friendly longhaired teacup pomeranian I have ever encountered. I would add at least an hour to my route once a week to sit and talk with that dog. I would let myself in sometimes and lay on the couch with him (oops). I was saddened when David and family moved. The new owners were more aware of me in their home unfortunately.

@guillermoagullomarti93 ай бұрын
If you want more goggings content both his books “Can’t hurt me” and “Never finished” are really good. They go in way more detail into his life. And if you already read thoose I would recommend Endure by Cameron Hanes. david mentions him in the video and that he went out on a run with him before the surgery that fucked him up. And he has said that cameron is the toughest motherfucker he has met. Bro runs a marathon daily. DAILY. And not only that he does it before his 9/5 shift on his job. And he is one of if not the best elk bowhunter. He goes in wilderness for days alone into the toughest terrain to go hunt animals way bigger and stronger then him with a bow and arrow

This is the key that readers of both books barely saw and Joe doesn’t know how to talk about either There’s softness and there’s kindness. They’re different. David is hard and kind. That’s the key. He’s compassionate to himself when he fails. He balances how he calls himself a little bitch and how he is kind to himself when he wants to quit. That’s the key. Like he said you’re alone when you’re grinding, so how do you love yourself more than anyone can when life is hell? You show yourself grace That’s not discussed in a way people can understand because it sounds soft. But that’s as hard as you can get. That’s competing with yourself because you’ve gone beyond most of your competition

I've been listening to countless life improvement shit, "Yeah I wake up at 4 enjoy the pain" "I jump in the ice cuz I love it" "I eat lead for breakfast cuz thats tough" from all kind of place, never worked. But in the Mr Goggins book, if he's runnin with a broken leg and it's painful as fuck, he said it's paniful as fuck; if he get complete exhaulsted in a marathon and can't keep going, he is 100% honest about it. "It sucked but I do it anyway" is way more convinsing the just "I love the suck"

I know your not david goggins, but callus your mind. David had no one to hold himself accountibable. He forced himself to achive greatnesss. He had so many oppertunities to quit. But he kept going, he didnt let the light out. He had no future lined up torwards him. He had a medley of evil attempting to hold him back. he didnt ring the bell, he moved forward in his pain, and accepted it. He was in the worst condition possible and still chose to do the hardest training a man can experience. He ran and ran and ran, he hurt and hurt and hurt, but he didnt quit. So, dont quit whoever you are. Sacrifice your comfert for your future. You will never regret perseverance.

My youtube shorts on october 1st 2023 gave me a short that had a fucking badass quote of yours, I wrote it down on a piece of paper and read it every day. Nearly one year later i've lost 90 pounds and am working my fucking ass off to hit my goal of 155lbs. "They'll see where their world ends and yours begins, your ability to suffer, endure, outwork must be GREATER. You must he willing to extend yourself to the LIMIT, with no guarantee of success. Everyday you must ask yourself. Did I do enough?" I'm gonna continue to earn this shit. Thank you David.
