It's a damn shame this guy doesn't get the credit he deserves because he is amazing to watch for anyone who is a fan of technique. He really is the perfect MMA fighter. If he fought the exact same way at a higher weight class he'd be a star because as it stands right now he's basically a Flyweight GSP.

+Firebreathing Guitars IMO TJ needs to come down and fight DJ. Instead of DJ going up in weight. Like the argument of Ronda and cyborg. BUT at the same time i see your point of him pushing to get his name out there more by going up to 135 plus unlike rousey/cyborg (at 145 not 135) theres a belt there, and lets be honest if he can stop TJ than hell hold the 125 and 135 titles for a long time, possibly til his retirement depending on how long he sees himself fighting for. And i know you can never count out dominic cruz but honestly i really dont see him beating TJ or DJ on his best day.
@Vahvafitness9 жыл бұрын
+LandfillAO1 Yeah exactly, agree. I hope he goes up a weight class and defeats TJ. Seriously: DJ vs. TJ. That already sounds good.

FUCKING LOVE THIS GUY!!!! SO SMART SO HUMBLE!!! HOW IS HE NOT MORE OF A STAR. A guy like this should be the face of MMA/UFC. His take on everything is great. When he's done with fighting, UFC should hire him as an ambassador for the sport, just doing interviews spreading the word of MMA. I learned more insight about MMA/UFC in 10mins of this interview then I did the whole Rousey/trainer interview. What a fucking awesome cool dude.

The reason Mighty Mouse and flyweights don't get the respect they deserve is not because of weight. Joe is confused because Conor is "only 20 lbs" more, or TJ is only "10 lbs more..." It's not about weight. It's about height. I'm 5'3" - Mighty Mouse is also 5'3" so is Dodson, and so are most of the flyweights. 5'3" is 2 standard deviations from the normal American male, versus Conor or TJ who are more in the 1 standard deviation range. People disregard Mighty Mouse because of his height, because being a short man in the US is looked down upon, and people don't want to recognize the superiority displayed by a shorter man because it undermines their own sense of security as an "average" or "tall" individual.
@VeNoM____8 жыл бұрын
Dodson is even shorter then DJ. Jus look at weigh in pics. Dodson prob 5'1 or 5'2. Some of these listings are inaccurate i dont even think Manvel Gamburyan and Ian Mccall r 5'5 even tho they are both listed at tht height.

@alphaalliance10599 жыл бұрын
+JagWar not really surprising I mean you look at what ronda has done for mma and you got her going in there finishing fights in the 1st round and just being completely dominant then for her to lose like she did to get completely dominated like she did it was shocking and people will be talking about it for a long time I mean look at mike Tyson now he wasn't just hype he was going in there knocking dudes out going 36-0 then douglas comes along and knocks him out it's a hard thing to get over plus putting in the fact he considered her a friend and cared about her it makes it that much harder to just let it go.
@HBKCommish9 жыл бұрын
+JagWar It's the nature of the MMA media and fans. It's NOT just Joe. I watch Ariel Helwani and Luke Thomas almost everyday, and THEY are still talking about it too. Why? Because the fans are still talking about it.

1:05:00 that's the problem. the ufc and people period doesn't promote respectful guys like this. we promote assholes like conor and bitches like ronda.

800mEric That fight took place in 2011. His next fight was his first Ian McCall fight that went to a draw. Think about how much better he's gotten since TYING IAN MCCALL. DJ would absolutely shit on McCall today, he doesn't even resemble the fighter he was in 2011.
