It's possible. You can also be asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms to the point of not noticing too much. Prior to the pandemic I hadn't been properly sick for at least 10 years. A slight fever once every couple years with no other symptoms. I saw my nephew a couple months ago, he had the sniffles and that cold knocked me on my ass for 5 days.

Having muscles is NOT the same as visceral fat around organs. So BMI is a faulty measure. The body stops making collagen at 55. Sarcopenia starts to set in. Maintaining muscle mass as you age helps prevent you from falling. Once you start falling...it's over.

Notice how none of those conditions include a highly communicable respiratory virus? When people refuse to get vaccinated, they not only increase their own risk of contracting covid, they also put society at risk by potentially taking up an emergency bed, or by being much more likely to spread the virus. The more covid spreads, the more chances it has to mutate into a potentially more infectious or deadly strain.

You also need to be pretty fat (bmi over 40) to see a significant increase in covid risk for hospitalization or death. Overweight and non morbidly obese people aren't at much higher risk for death or hospitalization and the risk for morbidly obese people is 2 to 3 times more. Not being vaxxed had a risk factor of 14 times so leave it to joe to play the numbers.

ER medic here. No, we do not weigh all patients. We do all paediatric patients. Or if it’s relevant to diagnosis or treatment. Once admitted different institutions have different policies. I’m not sure how a stat like ‘75% of admitted COVID-19 patients are overweight’. We do know that 74% of all Americans are overweight. The older you are, the more likely you’ll be out of shape/more likely you’ll be admitted because of age too. Correlation does not ≠ causation. You could claim ‘COVID-19 directly caused obesity’ with that logic. People near death may still be alive if they were not infected. People with terminal illnesses can live for YEARS!
