No one is discrediting what Leon did. It’s just he was getting beat for 4 rounds straight. Usman was clearly going to win, THEN the single kick happened which was awesome, but in all reality could be chalked up to a bit of luck. I think it’s more so people realizing that Leon Edwards wasn’t the better fighter that night, but he won if that makes sense. A good example would be Chael Sonnen vs Silva . Chael dominated him the ENTIRE fight, then Silva pulled a rabbit out of his hat and got the win. What Silva did was amazing but Chael was clearly superior during the fight till that very end.

Nah there have been some lucky KOs. Matt Hughes accidentally KO'd himself once 😂 I think the difference is intention as Belal kind of said. Leon intended to land that head kick and did, so by definition it isn't luck. Others have KO'd people with strikes they didn't actually intend to land, which is luck as it is random chance. Even Yair meant to land that elbow and attempted it multiple times in the fight, so again not luck.

Usman didn’t circle away he actually circled into the kick. Leon is a southpaw so Usman should’ve been circling the opposite direction away from Leons strong side. Not that I am trying to tell him what to do lol

I hate this UFC narrative of Usman won the fight just got caught. That’s literally some fighters entire style. Look at wilder in boxing or tank Davis, they literally take hits just to catch you with that one shot. Usman should’ve closed the distance and clinched. He was being too cautious and got caught. Which is a fault of his. This sport is read and react.

That’s like saying in basketball, oh we won 3 quarters but lost the game we should’ve won that. That’s not how things work. The winner is the team that was ahead at the end of the 4th. In this case Leon was ahead at the end of the 4th with that kick.

Calling it luck is just cope, Leon drilled that EXACT scenario in his fight camp, there is behind the scenes footage of him doing it in camp. It was the perfect kick at the perfect time, and after that inspirational corner talk at the end of the 4th he knew it was probably the only way to win, his corner called it out seconds before he threw it. He really is "Rocky".
