Definitely benzos are the worst. I've been tapering for over a year and I am still feeling withdrawal after only 2 weeks without it. I'm also using cannabis and it is helping me through the anxiety. Sometimes it can heighten my anxiety but I know it is just the withdrawal and it is going to be ok. You have to taper on these powerful drugs as to not die from withdrawal. I'm thankful for CBD and THC.

I’m 17 I been depressed for about a good year or two and for the first year I probably smoked like 3 times and soon I became tired of living and I disliked my life tbh I was so sad I started to lose my appetite and lost 20 pounds within two months and I finally tried to get some help and got therapy, months later of therapy I was still feeling the same way like it didn’t help at all, and I finally took things into my own hands and I decided to dabble with smoking pot, the first few months of smoking it was great, it would help me think more clearly allowing me to think about things from a different perspective help me think basically. As well as helping me see things for the way they are good or bad, and helped me realize how good life actually is. As well as helping me with my appetite as well and came back to a healthier weight for my body. I think it has been very beneficial for me but at the same time I can not abuse it because then I soon lose all the benefits from it.

Let me just give Joe Rogan much credit for opening for such debates in his podcast and making them most often really open and cool, even when his guests gets overexcited he manage to bring the discussion back to when it was a calm, profound discussion. In this one it is obvious that he tries to make the discussion as "not irritable" as possible and he's really good at it. At the same time he manage to puch his guests to a point where they feel questioned. Which is exactly what you want as a listener, he really succeed in giving the listener something to think och reflect about after listening to it.

ive smoked weed throughout my life (mostly 17-30), though not much anymore. only once has it ever helped me with pain and it wore off as soon as my tolerance went up (a couple or few days). i think the "weed relieves pain" thing is mostly bunk. maybe im wrong but ive never heard anything about weed actually acting on the nervous system. ive been hearing this since 2000 when it was medical only in california (when i was a recreational medical patient). and i know for a fact that if ANYTHING helps any kind of pain... theres no way that marijuana is the "only" thing that does it... what youre experiencing is psychological, which is often what much of pain sensation is... pain can be increased by acknowledgment of it and decreased by dismissal, to a greater extent than most people realize. and focusing on it develops neurological connections that perceive it. this is true for everything that you do, including "feeling" pain. now youre going to say "no, you dont understand, ive tried everything" and im going to say, "weed can help with pain by distracting you from it, the reason you "feel" the need to be on psychoactive chemicals all day long is because youre masking something psychological that causes you to dwell in it or havent learned how to dismiss the pain." them im going to say, "so long as youre doing what you need to do and not harming others, i have no problem with what you do." but dont fool yourself into thinking that weed is magical or that you have no other options.

@@orwellianreptilian2914 You should understand that everyone is different my guy, also if you smoke consistently for a long time you almost get a tolerance cap if that makes sense. After I smoked a lot (16-18) ever since then even when I haven't smoked for a year my tolerance goes right back up after a few days just like you said it does for you " it wore off as soon as my tolerance went up (a couple or few days)." I'm not saying weed has some magical power or anything like that what I'm saying is you gotta think about it from other peoples perspective like if A grandpa with Parkinsons disease used cannabis or even CBD it would help then a lot more than it would help you or I since we've used it so much, kinda like having your first cigarette verses your 100th
@orwellianreptilian2914
@orwellianreptilian2914 9 ай бұрын
@@hipduh Don't "logic" with me, kid. That "everybody's different" thing doesn't work here. This is how it literally is. If you have a more technical explanation, I'm willing to hear it... But you don't. Because it doesn't exist. All you have is "well, what if puppies and moonbeams?!" And how long do you think it's going to take grandpa to get to his 100th joint? Marijuana isn't something that you can use everyday for long periods and maintain relative efficacy like Vicodin or Adderall, used for their intended purpose. And there's a reason for that... Because marijuana is psychotropic. It can affect the perception of pain and THAT can very widely between people. And if THAT works... Then the issue that it resolves, to whatever extent it does, is psychological. To explain that properly would require a lot more effort than I'm willing to apply at the moment. But to summarize, attention to any particular thing, literally anything, will develop neurological structures responsible for perceiving and interacting with that thing. Unfortunately, it's more difficult to undo once it has been developed and most people are not either aware and or objective "enough" to do it effectively. Just reiterate, if it wasn't clear in my initial comment, my point was, "in this case and context (pain), if weed can do it, then there's a more effective strategy."

I can honestly say as a daily pot smoker for 10 years and just recently decided to quit, it is definitely addictive and can become destructive if your not able to use moderately. There are withdrawals also such as not being able to sleep, having nightmares and becoming bored and irritated very easily which leads most to go back to smoking. I also have anxiety and depression which I was already prone to having I believe weed brought that out in me way more. The withdrawals sound Very mild but it’s still a thing people should know especially if you have an addictive personality. I also feel a lot more clear headed and in touch with reality which I didn’t want to believe because I love weed but if it’s doing more harm than good u gotta stop or you’re never going to get ahead in life. Just my opinion and it differs from person to person but I know many people who would be doing way better if they quit weed but know one wants to accept that there life could be better without it. @@mitchell4379 Totally. So much of what's thought of when it comes to cannabis is equivalent to only thinking about drinking as college students doing keg stands and beer bongs. Bongs and smoking blunt after blunt, doing dabs all day every day, isn't a great idea. It's fine if a person wants to do that, but it's likely to have some severe consequences before long. Same as if you binge drink all the time. Cannabis used as utility doesn't look anything like that, in my experience. It's not about getting utterly blazed af. Pizza is fucking great, but if you eat that shit all day, every day it's going to kill you sooner than later. Same with cannabis.

I have been doing Cannabis for 50 years, and I have witnessed all of its effects on me and other people. There are people that just can't handle cannabis , they simply can't handle the stone. So cannabis is not for everyone. But to me it has an effect that is life changing and I believe that cannabis has had a hand in human evolution. Instead of looking for reasons to promote your own view of something that you know nothing about. Let me describe a personal view that cannabis gives me. When I don't have a complete view of any parts of life. I am human and I believe all people are the same. We , when we have our ability to be thoughtful, we end up banging on the same door, over and over we can't see any other way but that one door, and that door doesn't have the answers For me a couple of puffs of my pipe and suddenly, there are many doors. Doors with answers all types of views through many doors. Taking me away from that one door that I just can't stop knocking on. Which would you say a benefit like that is worth? Priceless Now like I have said it's not for anyone, but for me it is a guide and a relief. You can't just stop us people that are getting a very beneficial reaction from cannabis ? Be real. Your agenda is your agenda, don't believe that it's not something that could just be ignored .

From my own subjective experience, I lived a generally happy life until I started smoking weed. I had a love/hate relationship with it. I loved the physical feeling of it as well as the psychological feeling of escaping reality and just feeling different than normal. But I also developed a lot of depression, anxiety and eventually suicidal thoughts, all of which I had never really experienced before marijuana. On top of that, after about a year I started having a lot of delusional and psychotic thoughts and had really bad weed dissociation. I’ve never been in such a low place. Thankfully I was able to beat the addiction and am now much happier but I think people should be more educated on the very real potential negative side effects of this drug. I’m not saying it’s like that for everyone because I know many people who really benefit from it but for me it was the worst experience of my life. All I’m saying is that weed is NOT for everyone.

cannabis supports the persons endocannabinoid system in such a way , it seems magical, miraculous etc ... the actives in the plant that are medical for us are non selective lipid metabolites ... Selectivity is KEY as to how effective they are at supporting how our cells function, not forcing our cells into selective types of metabolism etc.... if you look at most things that are for pain etc... they are COX blockers ... cannabis' phytocannabinoids support COX/ LOX function and do not harm the liver, kidneys etc ... phytocanabinoids too instantly bind to bile acids when ingested that then help us to metabolize things ... like activating the enzymes in cells that start the process of bio-degrading lipids into biochemicals . just mentioning this as you post made me think of a few things I've learned about the plant ... smoking it too destroys most of the medical application acquired via other non smoke methods ... for quick relief like smoking can proved a clean air path dry herb vaporizer can be used with a heat range of around 350F up to 440 F ... no smoke toxins that way and actually delivers more acidic type phytocananbinoids ( THC-a/ CBD-a ) that are another level of medical benefit ... eating it raw is too another level altogether . Cannabinoid science / endocannabinoid system / lipid signaling / phytocannabinoids/ endocananbinoids . ECS is the largest physiological system in our bodies not taught in med school ... we have a long way to go

Alcohol absolutely has a negative impact upon our lungs. It ends up in our lungs, which is why we give breathalyzers to measure BAC. It’s apparent that this guy seems to be going out of his way to down play the negative effects of alcohol while also down playing the positive effects of marijuana. Marijuana can alleviate depression, anxiety, increase appetite amongst cancer patients, treat epilepsy, decrease physical pain, has cancer fighting properties, is an anti inflammatory, can greatly help sleep disorders, and then there’s the potential effects of what it can do to consciousness and personality. It can have a significant positive effect upon personality disorders, which are otherwise extremely difficult to treat. The ability to allow a narcissist to have deep selfless moments can be more transfiguring than any psychotropic. But nah, marijuana has no medicinal benefits. Now, Xanax! There’s a good drug!

That's why education, and yeah, a little experimentation, will determine whether or not it's for someone or not.

I have serious mental illness and I have chose to keep my illness a lie up until I was older. Cannabis helps me prioritize my goals because I also have ADHD. It helps me focus as well especially with a hyper active disorder included with psychopathy. Without cannabis I'd still be a criminal incarcerated... with actual lipid research we have found that metabolizing the lipids/terpenes of the cannabis plant helps to support how cells in our body maintain homeostasis response ... we've even found an entirely unknown physiological system in man while doing lipid research into cannabis plant metabolism ... the endocannabinoid system . the lipids in the plant while being metabolically active in our body creates more cellular plasticity which equates to learning/ adaptation and making of new cells ( neurogenesis)

@@super_sketchy_time7993 Well, I an present my findings, there are so many research articles of endocannabinoid system and its function etc... as to cannabis plant' impact on the system the actives in there ( phytocannabinoids) are non selective lipid metabolites that bio-mimic endocananbinoids . this gets very complex very quickly .. Tetrahydrocannabinol ( THC) bio-mimics N archidonoylethanolamine ( Anandamide/ AEA) ... Cannabidiol ( CBD) bio-mimics 2 arachidonoylglycerol ( 2 AG) .. phytocannabinoids/ endocannabinoids keep in mind that the plant cannabinoids are lipid /terpenes ( C-21 terpenophenolics/ meroterpinoids) which means lipids with terpene back bone. that determines how we metabolize them ... phytocannabinoids as already structured cannabinoids are free flow/ free form cannabinoids ... we make endocannabinoids via cleaving phospholipids from the cell bi-layer that are there from an accumulation of essential fatty acids ( omega three/ omega six) consumed regularly in diets . people who lack those suffer from Severe endocannabinoid deficiencies ... look on store shelves, it is loaded with nothing but omega six which when consumed in such amounts leads to over oxidation in our bodies ./ cells etc... omega three is anti oxidants and reduces inflammation and fixes deficiencies in the cells ... phytocannabinoids take the omega three pathways in the cells and are anti oxidant compounds and help to restore the cellular pathways that are otherwise being deficient in there signaling based on to much omega six/ nine etc.... short and sweet, start eating omega three as much as possible from good sources such as small fish with less mercury in them etc.... you can find it in pl;ant algae too such as chlorella and spirulina but that form is not as digestible as small fish that eat the algae and that then have omega three in them from that digested form.

Thats roughly 3,500 young girls committing suicide which is a fckn lot of people and shouldn't be overlooked in this debate. Especially since it doubled to 5 per 100,000 that number is increased to 5,000 young girls committed suicide, thats not a small number AT ALL.

Bottom line is weed effects everyone differently, can relieve or induce anxiety depending on ones genes, environment, and health. I learned the hard way it’s not for me, but my roommates light up everyday. Nothing wrong with them, they’re GPA is higher and they still have social lives. I’ve made my peace with it and smoke once a month with them if that.

I was a hardcore stoner for many years starting from an early age then all of a sudden one day i had a panic attack from out of nowhere and i have never felt the same! That was the start of my weed psychosis which i learnt about afterwards. I gave it up for a while but go through phases of smoking it everyday few months and not at all for a few. I am now at a point where i will have few drags off each joint passed round with friends where as i use to smoke on my own fattys. I absolutely love getting high best feeling there is and i miss that feeling but i have come to terms with what has happened. I could start smoking again and feel fine for a while but my mood swings and paranoia increases the longer i smoke so have mde that conscious decision to pretty much stop completely for good but will partake in a few pulls when with friends or at the end of the night when the drinking stops. It works for some people but those who have mental illness running through their family or have any sort of mental issues need to be careful and stop it before it could be too late! But i do love you Mary Jane even if you do fuck with my head and love being passed around my homies.

Beginning THC improved my condition to the point I went from 6’ 5” 143lbs to 180lbs in just a few months and in the form of mostly healthy muscle weight rather than just fat. This guy clearly fell victim to confirmation bias. He misinterpreted the results and only published info that fit his bias. As cannabis psychosis, is say yes it can happen but drawing a correlation between the cannabis use against someone's state of mind continuing to naturally deteriorate would be hard to confirm. He says something about people who use marijuana are 3 times more likely to be depressed and twice as likely to commit suicide. Again, to say cannabis is the cause is reckless because people may have already been depressed and suicidal and so they started using cannabis. It's entirely plausible that their state of mind naturally deteriorated over time. The cannabis may have helped or prolonged the suicide even but to correlate the two without a proper double blind study is irresponsible. Correlation does not equal causation.

My sister is type 1 bipolar. She smoked a bit of weed this morning after not having smoked it for months and had a complete psychotic breakdown/episode. She was hallucinating and hearing things and after 4-5 hours, she didn't remember anything that had happened. It was the scariest and weirdest thing I've ever seen and I've never seen her behave that way in my life. I didnt even know marijuana could do that. I quit smoking it about 2 years ago, (smoked since I was 13, am now 25) just because I wanted to live a sober lifestyle. I am pro legalization. But the research needs to be done on the connection/effect with cannibis on mentally ill people and/or if it causes mental illness. Because after this morning, I certainly believe that if you are mentally ill in any way, I would not chance smoking weed. The things my sister were saying were completely bizarre. It was the scariest/weirdest expierience I've had in my entire life. She was so sad and confused when I was telling her that none of what she was seeing/hearing was real. And her eyes, oh my god! It's like I could see into her soul. I can't describe it. I was asking her if she took anything else and if I could see the weed and she was being completely honest and somewhat robotic in everything I was asking her. (If she's using drugs, she always lies about it, even though I can tell if she's high) That was another strange thing about this. All of this was completely surreal for me. I told her I would talk with her tomorrow, because she called me after I dropped her off back home (after she started being normal again), and she completely was clueless as to what happened and that she thinks she blacked out and didnt know why or what happened? It's a sad thing. And something I didn't even know that was possible from smoking weed. I am at a loss with what to do about this.

I'm a big cannabis advocate, smoked for 4years daily, after 2years I started getting mad anxiety. Only thing that helped was smoking BUT the day I quit (4months ago) it took me just a week to completely lose my anxiety. The only way I can explain this is that smoking (even when you're not high anymore) narrows your mind and thoughts, u think more 'simple' (not always sometimes it widens your mind) but when you smoke you'll be able to predict things less good making you uncomfortable about situations causing anxiety. So yeah smoke moderately and you'll probably be fine. (just my perspective on it, it's most definitely very different for anyone no one responds to drugs the same way).
