@@mariamivanidze9116 Thanks! lol, i copied and paste from other response mine,because some of u are very offended people,and some of you don't really know or differentiate the connotations of some words or facts IMO,or whatever,doesn't matter, now we have this great fighter common in both countries as a godson and that's the important thing, I wasn't looking for a war or a discussion. Greetings-: I thought that the "Georgian alphabet" had been created by a Persian dynasty, others believe that it was Greek, others Roman, others that it was brought from Armenia... wasn't it modified like 3 times? It's as if I said that Latin was invented by the Spanish, because the "Castilian/Spanish language" was formed from it, lol When the kingdom of Iberia was there they were called Georgians? NO Was that territory called Georgia in those times? NO, it had about 4 different names before being called the Kingdom of Georgia and then Georgia... and from what I have read, you have a strange way of attributing the entire history and its merits to " Georgia" and the "Georgians", when that is not the case. Just like what I said previously about the Latin language that was invented by the "Spaniards", it is as if I were also telling you that the monuments of the Roman Empire that are still preserved in today's Spain were made by Spaniards, or the Alhambra in Córdoba (Spain), which was even named and is a world heritage site, is the work of the Spanish and not the Nasrid kingdom (dependent on the Umayyad Caliphate, which conquered the peninsula a few centuries). Here in the territory that is called Spain today, several tribes and cultures also coexisted (Iberians too, that is what the Greeks called the inhabitants/tribe of this land, the oldest known), and none of us here would think of calling them Old "Spanish" or whatever, that's ridiculous. It seems as if you are trying to prove that you are a very old country, by calling the different tribes and cultures that inhabited that territory as "Georgians", as happens to Ukraine, crazy and strange things, but could you tell me exactly when it started to be called? "Georgia" to that territory and "Georgians" to its inhabitants? (the Iberians were IBERIANS, not Georgians or Spanish, the Romans were ROMANS, not Spanish or Georgians, the Persians were not PERSIAN...and that's with all the ancient stories). Also reading that you don't even know the origin of your alphabet well, there being like 3 different theories, is a bit strange, since you say that it is an original "Georgian" language, so shouldn't you know exactly? The same about the origin of the name "Georgia", some attribute it to the Greeks and others to the Persians... how is it possible that you don't even know the origins of your "ancestral country"? I'm sorry but there are very strange things written about Georgia, and its supposed antiquity as a people made up of current Georgians, that makes no sense. Please, I would be very grateful if you could answer the question I asked you about when it began to be called Georgia and Georgians and why.

@@alvaro-oh9cp Stop spreading misinformation when you're not well-informed about the subject. Georgians are a way more older nation than Russians historically, politically, culturally and religion-wise, we were Christianized in the IV century, while the Kievan Rus was Christianized in the X century. Calling a Georgian man Russian is an insult for any Georgian, which is even more true for Topuria whose parents are refugees from Abkhazia, a region in Georgia that was engulfed in war because of Russian support for the separatists. If you don't believe me, listen to Topuria's interviews. 1. If we're talking about a unified country and the name of the kingdom and we're not including the Kartvelian (pre-unification) kingdoms of Colchis and Iberia, you have to read about the kingdom of Georgia and its golden age during the Middle Ages during which it was one of the most powerful kingdoms in the Near East and Eastern Europe at the time. Also if the same logic applies, the history of the Russian state should start with the Muscovite kingdom, not Kievan Rus. 2. Georgia did not join the Russian Empire by its free will. Georgia at the time was fragmented into minor kingdoms and the first one to be annexed by the Russian empire was the kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti (eastern Georgia). The king of Kartli-Kakheti Erekle II signed the document with the Russian Empire about the Russian military help in exchange for not making geopolitical decisions without Russia's approval, the document didn't include the annexation of Kartli-Kakheti and the abolishment of the kingship in Kartli-Kakheti, therefore the Russians annexed the eastern part of Georgia illegally. All the other kingdoms in western Georgia were later also conquered by force, not by the free will of the Georgian people. 3. At the time of Russian annexation the ethnic Georgian population of eastern Georgia was at least 100, 000 people by historical accounts and that's only the eastern part of the country, so your 40, 000 figure is inaccurate and the statement about the current Georgians being more Russian than Iberian genetically is an absolute top level of ignorance. There is NO GENETIC STUDY on planet Earth that would prove your false statement, all the genetical analysis proves that Georgians have nothing in common with Slavs and Russians in this particular case. If you look at today's Georgians and their physical appearance and mentality, they have NOTHING in common with Russians. Russians did settle in some parts of Georgia in the XIX and XX centuries but the mixing between them and Georgians was in very insignificant numbers and most of the Russians left after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Does Topuria or his parents look Slavic and Russian to you? I don't know if you're Spanish or Latino but your knowledge about Georgia is very superficial and you shouldn't get into details unless you've read the history first.
@alvaro-oh9cp2 ай бұрын
@@tono1077 Just try to summarize it for the simples... I love you know the history of your country,im not specialized in it, but if they did DNA tests on you, the current majority would descend from the Slavic Russians, the last ones who conquered you, rather Georgia joined voluntarily. to the Russian Empire, when the Persians were massacring you, just as in Spain we have Arab DNA... and I doubt that they would remain more 40,000 GEorgians when it joined the Russian Empire... In any case, thanks to the Russian Empire, Georgia grew and became stronger and then met the conditions of a country and became independent... so basically you gave me the reason that it was always a reign of different empires,not a state or a country

@@alvaro-oh9cp Georgia’s history is marked by periods of independence and foreign rule, largely due to its strategic location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Here’s a summary: 1. Ancient and Early Medieval Independence (c. 4th century BCE - 7th century CE) Kingdom of Iberia and Colchis: The regions now known as eastern and western Georgia existed as independent states as early as the 4th century BCE. Kingdoms like Iberia (eastern Georgia) and Colchis (western Georgia) formed and maintained varying degrees of autonomy. Christianity: Iberia adopted Christianity in the 4th century, making it one of the earliest nations to do so. This fostered a unique identity despite periodic foreign threats. 1.1Arab Invasion and Rule (7th - 9th century) First Invasions: The Arab armies began advancing into the South Caucasus in the mid-7th century as part of the Rashidun and later Umayyad Caliphates’ campaigns. By 645, Tbilisi, Georgia's current capital, fell under Arab control. The Caliphate sought to control the region due to its strategic importance as a buffer against Byzantine influence. Emirate of Tbilisi: The Arabs established the Emirate of Tbilisi in the early 8th century, which became a key center of Arab rule in Georgia. Though nominally part of the Caliphate, the Emirate functioned semi-autonomously, paying tribute to the Caliphs while maintaining control over Tbilisi and surrounding areas. Resistance and Decline of Arab Influence (9th - 11th century) Various Georgian kings and nobles continuously resisted Arab rule. Leaders like Ashot I of the Bagrationi dynasty began consolidating power in western Georgia, and by the 9th century, they had created a strong Georgian principality in Kartli (central Georgia). Rise of the Bagratid Dynasty: Ashot I’s successors gradually weakened Arab control, gaining autonomy and eventually reducing the Emirate of Tbilisi's influence. By the early 11th century, King Bagrat III unified most of Georgia, marking the decline of Arab rule. The Kingdom of Georgia was unified as early as the 11th century under King Bagrat III, and later flourished during the Golden Age of Queen Tamar in the 12th-13th centuries. During this time, Georgia was a powerful and culturally advanced Christian state. 2. Golden Age of the Kingdom of Georgia (11th - 13th century) Kingdom of Georgia: From the late 11th century to the early 13th century, Georgia experienced a period of unity and independence under rulers like King David IV and Queen Tamar. This period, known as the Golden Age, was marked by expansion, cultural flourishing, and military success. 3. Mongol and Subsequent Foreign Rule (13th - 18th century) Mongol Invasion: The Mongols invaded Georgia in the 13th century, and Georgia became a vassal state of the Mongol Empire for much of the period. Timur’s Invasions: In the 14th century, Georgia faced repeated invasions by Timur (Tamerlane), severely weakening the kingdom. Ottoman and Persian Empires: By the 16th century, Georgia was divided into small kingdoms and principalities, with the Ottomans controlling the west and the Safavid Persians the east. These empires exerted influence over Georgia for much of the 16th to 18th centuries. 4. Russian Empire (1801 - 1917) Annexation by Russia: In the early 19th century, Georgia’s weakened kingdoms (Kartli-Kakheti in the east and Imereti in the west) were annexed by the Russian Empire, ending Georgia’s independence. 5. Brief Independence (1918 - 1921) First Democratic Republic of Georgia: After the Russian Revolution, Georgia declared independence on May 26, 1918, forming the Democratic Republic of Georgia. However, this period was short-lived. 6. Soviet Period (1921 - 1991) Soviet Invasion and Annexation: In 1921, the Red Army invaded Georgia, and it became part of the Soviet Union. It remained a Soviet republic until the dissolution of the USSR. 7. Modern Independence (1991 - present) Restoration of Independence: Georgia declared independence from the Soviet Union on April 9, 1991 (announced in April 9, declared in May 26). Since then, it has been an independent nation, though it faced conflicts such as the 2008 war with Russia over the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
