Great work guys. I've been a massive fan of Joe ever since I picked up a guitar around 1990, but I can't possibly tell you how stoked I am to see Rai Thistlethwayte out there as well. Thirsty Merc have produced some kick-ass Aussie music that stands the test of time. I had the pleasure of meeting Rai back in Dubbo a few times around the late 90s when I had some mates who worked at Dubbo Zoo. At a house party he grabbed a neglected and unloved acoustic guitar with rusty strings, tuned it up and banged out the best impromptu drunken session of covers and originals I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in an overcrowded living room. One of the best party times I've experienced in my 40-something years on this blue-green marble. My JS1000 is, without doubt, the guitar I'd grab if the house was burning down. I can't believe that 2 of my favourite artists ended up on stage together in Madrid and I'm just finding about it now. I guess life gets in the way a bit, but I'm absolutely PUMPED to see these guys banging out great rock together. My soul is in a happy place.
