Hey Kim, hope your keeping well brother. England going through a proper cold spell right now. Thought I'd hibernate in my studio and knock out a track. Glad you liked it. 👍

The same here in Norway man, extremely cold ❄️🥶🥶 I loved the tone, it gave you the Sufring feeling that is so difficult to emulate 🤘🤘🤩 And the super cool background, fits perfect to the song 👏 Know you said a while ago that you were working on this song- and congratulations on this timeless classic 😁 See yeah and take care in the cold 🥶🥶

@Kim-Andrè Sandnes - Norway! Good lord your used to the cold then. 🥶. The tone I can tell you is emulated from the album Time Machine. I'm obsessed with Joe's tone from that album where he used an Eventide Pitch Shifter in stereo panned left and right. It gave his sound a rich thickness without that obvious chorus flavour. I found the Neural Abasi Orange Amp very close paired with some IR's some guy made using an isolated guitar solo from Vai's Passion and Warfare album. Think they were Marshall cabs with Celestion 25 Greenbacks in them. There's a bit of sorcery in getting everything to come together in the DAW but it's quite close. The funny thing is everyone runs out and buys DiMarzio Fred's or PAF's in search of a tone like this but it's WAY more productive to work out the gear being used, you can adjust any pickup with EQ and a clean boost if you want it hotter.

Well you have found a great sound, myself I wish I had the ability to do that 😅 I only have my Boss G-1 and no tube amp, so I’m just lucky if I find something that has some sort of distortion 🤣🤣 Well, congratulations 😁 I’m currently working on “Flying In A Blue Dream” or as I call it now “Flying In A Legato Dream” 😅

@Kim-Andrè Sandnes - I don't have a tube amp either its all routed through the computer audio interface. Grab yourself an IK Multimedia Axe IO, even a solo will do, that JFET Z Zone thickens up digital signals and gives your sound some oomph. Flying in a blue dream eh, that's some some serious legato work there I agree! All good fun though Kim. I'm not sure what to do next, might do a ballard. I'd do some slow blues but that doesn't get many hits like Satch stuff.

Hey man awesome playing. I wanted to ask how's the guitar and did it have any quality control issues when you bought it.

Thanks man, appreciate you coming over. The Harley out the box needs work for sure. Firstly the fretboard needed cleaning up as it had some chalky residue all over it. Then the frets needed cleaning and polishing as they were dull and scratchy. Then, the action needed adjusting and truss rod to straighten the neck. Having said that, once all that was done, the guitar is incredible for the price. The neck profile is thicker than I'd like as I'm an Ibanez player, but for the money, nothing comes close. If your asking should you get one.......the answer is yes!

@@chromebuoy You are absolutely amazing. I am also a guitar player and a musician and thought of commenting from my music channel. I started playing guitar when I was about 18, I am 30 now, and during those days Joe Satriani was one of my major inspirations, my guitar hero, he still is. This song you have played, I have listened to countless time and I wish I can play it one day like you. Your playing is really out of the world, it brought me so much joy. I'll be looking forward to your upcoming videos 😀

@Debjit Kundu Music - Your very kind with your comments thank you so much. Its great you are a guitar player too and into Joe! Keep practising daily if you can, little and often builds up over time. I'm pretty much self-taught, I think I had 1 year of lessons at age 17, and since then, everything is all me. I think it's the old adage "You get out what you put in". Try and do an hour a day of legato, scales, and picking if you can. You'll be nailing Joe songs in no time! I'll come over and check your channel out!

VERY NICE..............SCALES USED IN THIS SONG???

Thanks for listening and commenting! Scales used. ...crumbs this song takes a few different paths during the solo section but the main key of the song is G. I used a mixture of G Minor Pentatonic with b5, dorian, there was Ionian in a section for that country turnaround. Phyrigian was also in there too at one point. You can jam over the main theme with the dorian/blues scale in G if you wanted to but the solo section has key changes.
