Joe Walsh, one of the top guitarists in rock and roll. The Eagles scored big when he joined them. It made them an honest to goodness rock band. Joe Walsh and Keith Moon of The Who used to trash hotel rooms…they were nuts when they were drunk or high! Often banned from coming back to these hotels. He did eventually did rehab and got sober. This song is about what fame does to someone like Joe!

There's an old saying in Chinese - "When the tree falls, the monkey's scatter." It means that when a great person loses their perceived greatness all those who cling to them panic and go off to find other people to cling to. That happens a lot with musical artists who are on top of the world for a time and then a year or two later are back to playing in dive bars.

I had been looking for this song since before 1979 when my parents divorced. I heard this song while in my Dad's car (I think it was a Citroen) one day. I still remember that journey, but never ever ever heard this song again. Since I was a young kid I never knew the words only the melody to hum. Every few years it would pop in my mind and I would hope one day I'll find out it's singer and title. My Dad passed back in 2009 and I still had not found song. Forward to the beginning of this year (2022) I was on Twitter viewing rock group accounts (Probably started off looking into Mountain of Nantucket Sleighride) not even thinking about this song, then as you branch off to other accounts somehow I came across someone who had ReTweeted a clip of an artist called Joe Walsh. He was telling a story of how he didn't have a Maserati at the time and only used that line cos Lamborghini didn't fit. He played the riff and I was stunned. 'That sounds like the song I've been looking for my whole life'. I found out the name checked it out on Spotify and sure enough it was the tune. I still can't believe that in more than 43 years I never once heard that song on the radio or tv ever after that first hearing. Keep up the good work Brotha Jamal. Luv your channel.

The line "I live in Hotels, tear out the walls. I have Accountants pay for it all." is referring to Walsh, it was reported that SEVERAL of the Hotels He stayed at, had Entire walls torn out of them after He left!!! In the Live version, he changes a few lines and my Favorite is "I have a Limo, Ride in the Trunk. I lock the doors, in case I get DRUNK!". Walsh is a Joker and a HALF! Hell, He's 2 FULL Jokers!!!!!

My mother lucked out and bought a 1956 Seeberg jukebox in about 1978 right out of the little country store in South Carolina where it had sat since it was bought new. It still had all the old records on it from the 1950's. My sisters and I immediately started trading them out for what WE liked. "Life's Been Good" was one of the first records we put on it, and never took it out.
