*Yo, what's up everyone?!* Leave a comment of your favourite photo and also let me know what you think of the vlogs lately - I've been changing things up a bit and really enjoying the results! P.S I know the opening vlog shots are over exposed. It wasn't intentional and was corrected as best I could, without damaging the footage more. The A7R has no flip out screen 😐 P.P.S. Who else noticed that I completely forgot to turn the Super35 crop off after testing that lens in Yodabashi? It took me a while to realise it. I just thought I got tired and my arm was being lazy 😂

@RedroomBerlin7 жыл бұрын
Bro, what's up with the over exposure?!? How about using an ND? Other than that great content! 👍🏼 Really enjoying your vlogs!
@-grey7 жыл бұрын
This. I thought maybe the LUT was making it worse too. Like a LUT that emulates a Polaroid w/ flash or something. NDs are pretty necessary.
@joeallam7 жыл бұрын
Classic case of not having a flip out screen unfortunately. I don't review back each of the vlog shots when filming and sadly this happens from time to time (out of focus often as well). I've tried to bring down the exposure as much as possible without truly distorting the footage or flattening the whites beyond repair, but it seems it's still pretty bad. I'd love for Sony to make a decent vlogging camera with a flip-out screen, or Canon to acknowledge 4K on their cameras with screens. Or jump ship again and find another system that might meet my needs. But y'know… budget 😔 The shots at least still have informative content to them in my opinion, which is why I kept them in; sorry it's a bit distracting!
@yaminlahmeur83257 жыл бұрын
Joe Allam maybe try using a smaller aperture (or bigger f stop). the background blur looks rly nice but it's overexposing you. great content though. good job!

When you were not sure to get good shots, have you ever tried bracketing? I know it exists on Fujifilm X-T2 (not sure for X100F). In your situation, I think I would use 2/3 stop correction and 5 shots or 1/3 with 9. But this requires more work: view 5 to 9 shots to select one or two, make space on your memory cards, select your best shots, maybe delete the ones you don't like. I will try that on my next trip. I have just acquired an X-T2 that I will use with a Fujifilm 16-55mm and some Nikkor manual lenses I purchased over three decades ago (with a Nikon F3) :-) The pictures you published in your Instagram account are great. The ones taken in Japan are marvelous.

I was actually looking forward to the nighttime photos, wasnt disappointed. Another favorite was one with by the river; shot where there were people waiting for their train ride. Also, this made me miss Tokyo. I went on exchange there which ended just this March. I along with friends I made during the trip would sneak out waaay past our curfew to explore Tokyo. We legit went to four different places in one night because of the rush we felt; Akihabara to Shihbuya to Ginza to Shinjuku (forgot the order HAHAHA but all of it in the same night).

I would try the new Olympus EM1 MII for vlogging. The stability is the best, and even though the GH5 has better bitrate and DR, the colours on Olympus are great to not have to grade.

Hi Joe, do u think x100f is better than xt10 despite interchange lens camera?
@joeallam7 жыл бұрын
They have different use cases, but as far as raw image quality, the X100F technically has the newer better sensor technology. If you compared it directly to the 23mmF2 on an X-T10, I'd go for the X100F.

Always love your content, super inspiring! Really curious though Joe why you hate the A7r for photos? It's my primary body for stills and I wouldn't swap it for anything.
@joeallam7 жыл бұрын
I have multiple issues with it. Essentially I find it too slow for my workflow and I simply can't "trust" it to perform, based on the usability of it. It is especially cumbersome when switching between photo and video modes, so I opted to just use it for video and have been happier with it ever since.
