Hello Joe, Absolutely fantastic video. From start to finish, a real treat to watch. You guys have it figured out. I plugged the computer into the TV and watched it on the big screen. LOL I wait all year for your duck opener and deer hunting videos (no joke) best outdoor videos on YT. I am amazed at how you capture all aspects of what hunting is all about. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort. I hope when my kids grow older they will come hunting and fishing with me and perhaps have some traditions such as this. All the best. Mark

Joe, thank you for taking us along with you & Sarah and the rest of the family. I am not a hunter in any way. I have also never eaten duck or deer. I have been set against it for years. I think after watching your videos it has given me a new appreciation for those of you that wake up early, set out early in the morning and putting yourself out there. I have learned so much about just what goes into what you all do. so much work goes into the animals after the hunt. Nice to see that not all the people that hunt are into just to kill the animal. Sara really has quite the cot! This comment is getting long. Thank you for all the work & love that you put into producing these videos! You do a fantastic job! Thank you for what you do! Billie

Awesome video Joe. Seems like you have a real nice place to hunt for early season. I mostly hunt the legendary Long Island NY. It Is salt water bays so its different in a number of ways and requires different gear than what you use on your pond or creek, but there are tons of birds and over 22 species including 7 species of sea ducks and brant geese.
@JoeandZachSurvival8 жыл бұрын
+danarooneo I love hunting ducks, i bet some of the species you get to shoot are beautiful. I may someday get down to Louisiana a few weeks earlier than I do now in the winter and get here while duck hunting is open so I could hunt some of the species that fly the Gulf. Thank you for the comment. Joe

You mentioned that there was more rice this year. Do you ever do foraging? I would think with that much wild rice in the lake that you could harvest enough for a year in a fairly short order. Good video. looks like a fun weekend in the north woods.

Great video from a fellow duck hunter. Just discovered your channel and it's awesome. Not sure if you guys figured it out yet but it looks like the failures to eject she's having is because she's short shucking the shotgun. From watching a few of the shots the pump doesn't come all the way back and she's rechambering the spent round. Just trying to help. Great video
@JoeandZachSurvival8 жыл бұрын
You are exactly correct. Someone had said that so we watched what she did and we are pretty sure thats why the gun wasn't working or seemed like it wasn't working. Thank you for the nice comment. 3 months until we will be back out in the duck blind up here in Minnesota. I cant wait.

Thanks. I used to shoot ducks in the late 60's early 70's when I was much younger on Long Island, NY A place called East Island which is located in the Great South Bay. We shot mostly from a fixed blind but occasionally from a duck boat if the bay froze over. Your video brought back sweet memories of that time. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
@JoeandZachSurvival8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Plesch I would love to hear some of your duck hunting stories. Duck hunting is a lot of work, once everything is all set up though and the ducks start flying you really cant beat how fun it is. Thanks for the movie, grabbed a big bag of popcorn large iced tea and watched and enjoyed the movie. Duck hunting is about the same way here in Central Louisiana. Except we do that every weekend while the hunting season is in full swing which is NOW!
@JoeandZachSurvival8 жыл бұрын
+Bob Wieters I used to be able to do it every weekend here as well but work is to busy right now for me to get away. After opener when we go its out to western Minnesota where you get so many different types of ducks out in the prairie pothole areas. Lots of geese out there also. When I am driving on interstate 10 in Louisiana between LaPlace and Kenner on the south side of lake Pontchartrain you see the duck blinds out in the swamp and I always wonder what hunting ducks would be like down there. Thank you. Joe
@huntr4lfe8 жыл бұрын
I seen her short shuck a couple, good shooting. You guys waterfowl hunt all season or just opener?
@FreelanceDuckHunting8 жыл бұрын
I think the problem with her gun was user error. If you look closely she doesnt pump the magazine all the way back. She pauses about 3/4 way through the pumping action. She needs to be more clean and forceful with the pumping action and I dont think she will have that problem.
