I am a 70 year old black blues guitar player that knew about Joe when he was 13. I always knew he be great but he’s has surpassed my expectations. My first concert I was 15, and saw Johnny Winter And w/ Rick Derringer open for Led Zeppelin greatest show of my life. When I finally saw Joe in Nashville, at the Gaylord Amphitheater I finally saw a show that lived up to the first concert. I’ve never been to. Thank you, Joe hope I get to see you sometime.

My first real introduction to Joe's music was his Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House. I have seen him live 5 times since I first heard that CD. I introduced my father to his music and he attended 4 of those concerts with me. It became a great shared love for blues with my father until he passed away a little over 2 years ago. My great friend Mike, who knew my father well, picked up where Dad left off and joined me at Joe's concert in Macon, GA last March. If you have never had the opportunity to see Joe live, I highly recommend you do when you get the chance!!

I saw a video about "Bloodline" years ago. And I thought,wow, this kid is amazing. He has the chops of guys who have been playing for their whole life. I have been a session musician playing on TV and films, so I like to know what I am talking about. He has done as much for the Blues community as the Stones, Clapton and John Mayall did in the 60's and Gary Moore in the 90's and should be commended for that! And all the haters in the world can never change the importance of Joe Bonamassa, not only for Blues, but for Rock guitar playing into the future! I have only seen you twice live, but I will always cherish those moments.

Incredible indeed. Watched it seven times and every time it gives me goose bumps. Unique talent, great parents, great management (hats off to Roy Weisman and his long term view until finally the Royal Albert Hall and Eric Claption opened up the sky). Producer Kevin Shirley greatly enhances the musical cohesion of the documentary, as he also developed Joe's potential. Muddy is dead, BB is dead, Jimmy and Stevie are dead, but thank God Joe is alive and kicking. Saw him twice (Gent Jazz, Ostend) and what a smoking show it was. I already discovered Joe when he played as a kid for BB and Buddy Guy, what a revelation. "You don't always know where these children get it, but all I can say is: he got it." Amen to that. So glad that Joe matured into a superb artist, always exploring new stuff (great session with those Greek musicians). The thrill is not gone. Joe, long may you live.

Been following this guy for 20+ years and as a guitar player myself I have always been soooo impressed with not only his prowess on the guitar but for who he is and the way he does things. His affection for the blues and his encyclopedic knowledge of vintage guitars and the artists that went before him is unequalled by any other musician ( that I can think of ) he doesn’t compromise. His collecting is not a example of his wealth but simply his love of the history and the stories that accompany the instruments. To be the kind of success that Joe is in the music biz speaks volumes of his accomplishments and determination,, he just doesn’t need a corporate entity getting in his way. Love this documentary and have huge respect for Joe and always will ! Thanks Joe !

That bit where Joe says he could never pay Eric Clapton back, how about giving him his guitar back, Joe, you own every guitar ever made before 1970! and you own every Fender amp and every merchandise sign ever made alongside all the souls of every blues and rock player that ever lived. Joe, you own EVERYTHING, including every country and all the citizens living in them. One guitar Joe.... come on, he might not even want it now, but the gesture would be good. you can only play one at a time! all of these comments have to be true because I read them in the comments sections on KZbin videos that have featured Joe in them, and we all know the comments section of youtube has the wisdom and truth of world knowledge within it's scriptures.... Bloody awesome documentary! Glad I saved it for Boxing day viewing!
@rcsutter11 күн бұрын
Not sure if that's sarcasm, but I'll just say there are a lot of guys out there with large guitar collections. Some we've never heard of, but most professional guitarists that made it big have an impressive collection. Joe Walsh, Rick Neilson, Neil Schon, etc...or on the other hand you've got a billionaire like Jim Irsay. He's got a lot of rare guitars, because he could outbid everyone in the room. I'd rather the wealthy musicians have them than the wealthy football team owner.
@MrMinddoctor10 күн бұрын
@@rcsutter Well, it was meant to be sarcastic. Kinda poking fun at people that take issue with his collection, the old trope about Joe knowing where Eric's guitar is etc alongside the fact that youtube comments are the craziest and yet somewhat quite entertaining places on the internet. I wouldn't call myself a "fanboy" and yet I do really like an awful lot of JB's music, I have a healthy respect for what he has achieved and I find him funny as F... so much so because of his levels of sarcasm. I would like to think that if he ever read it then he would get it. I have no malice toward him in any way, his humour appears to align somewhat with my own. I'm sure his response would be F... off, with a wry grin... anyhoo, he earned it, so good for him. hope that also aligns somewhat with your own thinking.
@rcsutter10 күн бұрын
@@MrMinddoctor Yep that's what I thought, but sometimes it's hard to tell. It's crazy how people follow Joe all over youtube to talk shit about him. Yes we are on the same wavelength about this. Take care and have a great day!
@MrMinddoctor10 күн бұрын
@@rcsutter Thank you. I actually thought the bit about him owning souls and all the people in every country might hint toward my intent, however, you are right, it is really tricky to tell sometimes and there probably are numpties around that believe he keeps dead musicians souls in old peanut butter jars to which he taunts by playing their riffs backward then shakes the jar just to keep them in a state of unquiet. I don't believe that of course, he keeps them in old Diet Coke bottles... Have a prosperous new year and may all your dreams be realised, unless your dreams are to take his bottles of souls...
