Let me say this for the record. I'm a day one Joe Budden fan from the Mood Muzik days as well as I'll Name This Podcast Later. Yes, I think he has changed some over the years and I don't exactly agree with all of his moves he has made. But we have to look at this man as a media genius at this point. I don't know if there is another, larger form of genius we could say, but at least in terms of media and producing. He literally made a co-host out of Marissa, Mal, Parks, Rory, Ish, Ice, etc. Yes, Mel and Flip had experience before this (shout out to G Money), but he took them to another level. We have literally watched this man build these folks up to greatness in this podding world. It is amazing if you really think about. He needs another network and he needs and deserves to be in some bigger rooms. Those of yall who have been following his career know what I'm saying. You gotta respect it.

@saintmte50764 ай бұрын
I think we throw around the word genius too easily. Joe just understood the role of social media/commentary and how it'll be really popular in the future. Therefore I would call him a man with cultural foresight. Giving him the same superlatives given to the Einstein's and Plato's is ridiculous! I wouldn't be mad if you tried to compare Joe to Shakespeare, as Shakespeare was deemed a lower class citizen by the elites.
@wellsfuego33714 ай бұрын
@@Max529-i2n thanks ghandi I don’t agree or disagree because I’m not reading a 10 page essay this early it’s a podcast brotha 😂
@Max529-i2n4 ай бұрын
@@saintmte5076 I actually agree that a lot of people throw the word genius around too easily, but I don't. In this example you have seen him build several successful shows and iterations of the podcast, and they have all been a hit. I was inspired to write the initial post because it is fascinating to see how he took Rory and Mal to the top of the charts with that version of the pod and then did it again with an entirely new cast. And on top of that, half of the folks on the couch are just friends he had to coach and build. If you do that once, it is understanding the role (to your point), but when you do it over and over with folks from different backgrounds and no experience, that's different. That is where the genius part comes in. He is literally producing the show real time. Lastly, a lot of folks understand the podcast landscape and try to success, but they don't. Nor do the achieve the same level of success and impact as Joe. That is the difference in my opinion.
