When 6lack said “you’re the first to break it down like that...” it says a lot about how black men don’t deal with their problems or seek help like therapy. You could tell he really felt that impact from talking to Joe. Good episode and shows that it’s okay to be vulnerable as a black man. Thanks Joe ✊🏾
@MentalStillness6 жыл бұрын
That's how it's supposed to. Joe is really maturing into an OG in the game. And he's been through a lot with depression, addiction and rage. He's found peace and I feel like 6lack as the Young Artistic Young brother he is will embrace the game Joe is giving him. His strength is his humility and his preseverence. I'm rooting for brothers seeking answers and being honest about their flaws and what they're passionate about. Well done Joe, Keep it coming 6lack.
@zkrhmn6 жыл бұрын
It was also great bc artists who hate doing the usual mundane media rounds will be seeing this and be more open to come kick it with Joe for an afternoon, knowing that he's an OG in the game who can empathise with a lot of the shit that they might be going through, making for a very real and open convo every single time.

Fuck therapy. We know our issues. We also know that there are a lot of people who are too selfish to understand what we go through. Theres no point in trying to talk to MOST people and we know it. If you're not on a certain level, you'll never understand anyway. The shit turns into a competition about who been through the most as apposed to a conversation about our reasons for doing what we do with somebody else who at the very least can relate. And there's not many who have done enough or are conscious enough to understand.

You know what i see here... 6lack doesn't have all the answers and he knows that. He's self aware and has a high sense of emotional Intelligence. He's a thinker. When Jo was 25, he and all his peers hadn't even reached the stature 6lack possess right now as a person. This is why it's so difficult for Joe to grasp the fact 6lack really has his head on his shoulders. Older folks SWEAR maturity, wisdom, and profoundness only comes when your hitting 35 as if all "young" people aren't aware of themselves and the world around them. Homie has a life that consists of good/bad events that happened which has led him all the way up to this point. He's an introvert for crying out loud. He watches everything, takes it all in and calculates. Not saying all introverts are this way but a good amount are. You can also tell he gets a bit frustrated because Joe acting like he just can't believe 6lack has this persona. Older folks need to talk to more "younger" people instead of talking over them and or AT them.... they just might discover we know some shit. Quick to discredit and downplay an entire generation before getting to know them. Smh keep grinding 6lack thanks for sharing and inspiring.

DaKidLinx It not off the top like people think. He just listens and step by step creates the lines in his head. It's a memory game not a 'freestyle' game. I do it as well. I write it down after I finish though now because I have forgotten whole verses before.

"Are you bi-polar? What do you suffer from???" DEAD...Joe is hilarious. 6lack definitely acts like a Cancerian. He does not connect to external and/or superficial things. Very mature for his age.

6lack if your reading this just know from a father of a 5 year old and 10 year TIME IS ALL KIDS CARE ABOUT....they dont understand the value of a dollar or what it means to sacrifice. Just some Advice from one father to another do what you can to give you baby that TIME bro she needs it!!

This interview was by far one of the best interviews ever. I always had a love for Uncle Joey, especially the Emotional Joey. I enjoyed 6lack’s music, especially Worst Luck it’s been the soundtrack of my life & have comforted me in the worst of times. I connected with 6lack even more. I doubt 6lack will ever see this but as a daughter who’s father believed that showing her product of the time that he sacrificed with her had provided was comforting after the fact. It’s not! I would choose that time any day.

First of all both their voices are soothing ! I relate so much to 6lack because he’s so chill and he tells you alot without really telling you anything. You can tell he is a very personal person you can try and work your way in but 6lack is only going to let you know what he wants. He’s going through personal healing and you cant fuck with it. He know where he needs to and he’s figuring out his journey. Love 6lack always 🖤

I’m 49 and a former singer and I absolutely love 6lacks music. I listen to it all the time and such a big fan. I think if you love good lyrics or writing that you can appreciate all that he does. I love this guy ❤ and Joe as an interviewer is so awesome and fun. It’s what we want to know and down to earth. Luv it!
