Long Distance Freight Trains! | Transport Fever 2 | Race To The North | Episode 5

Hello and welcome Transport Fever 2 series!
We're back on the Race To The North map today where we're really busy ensuring we make a tidy profit from our new Midland Mainline! First order of business is to actually finish the mainline, as I can't see a profit on a route which has miles of track missing!
We're then going to turn our attention to getting some passenger trains running along the line to connect the cities with London. Naturally we need to sort the freight situation around Sheffield, and I reckon I've come up with a cool way of it working!

Joe the freight line past Sheffield station reminds me of the northern line past Cornbrook

In the past, East Midlands Trains used to run a parliamentary service between London St Pancras and Leeds using their HST sets before their retirement. Maybe, in the future of the game, you could include a line between London and Leeds via the midland mainline using those sets.

Look at the paths that trucks are taking through the pick-up/drop-off hub, put waypoints on certain entrances for certain platforms/routes, At the moment trucks are overlapping all over the place causing the congestion

25:01 put 2-way road on the other side so that the trucks have two options in and out instead of two in and outs, it's better to have two 2-way ins and outs as shown at 26:01, the lines are lopping on themselves at the station, if you had two 2-way in and out at both sides, you wouldn't have the issue where the lines are lopping back on themselves and get in each other ways

Joe you might want to tick the trucks to other platforms if there is full. Helps congestion

Just having a 2-way road on each side of the roadcargo terminal where the center is (where the original road is, add one on the opposite side). That way, trucks can drive in from either side and go out from either side and potentially get rid of a lot of looping around.

I'm not much of a steam guy but I'd love to see the Black 5s, Mallards, and all those big rail tour locos on this map. When do you think you'll go to Scotland and when it's more modern day please use a triple class 158 in Scotrail.

OMSI 2 Boardman 375 about 1 hour and 30 minutes I think I have some lengths to it it's really lovely route I really want you to do that for your next OMSI 2 I think it changed to the 408 I'm up with on my old mate who was the playlist map 24/7 till I know that but the route is really good please carry on doing OMSI 2 draw😊😊😊

There is a freight tram mod which you could use however I think it would be better to use a freight underground railway in londen as there will be no pollution it could be reused for passenger and it would be interesting

For the hub in Reading why don’t you do different platforms for each route so they stop getting stuck behind each other

Hope you are gonna implement some real-life influences in this series. I'm thinking LNER has A1/A3/A4 for their expresses and for every other job a specific other class of loco. The LMS being held back in the 20's due to most of its board of directors being ex midland and forcing their small loco/train policy (the biggest thing on midland rails was a black 5 i believe). The southern region relying more on commuter traffic than goods. (Due to the harbour traffic comming of ships from the EU Mainland.)
