God I fucking love this album. I had to buy a stereo just to listen Big Black LOUD. Small speakers ruin the onslaught.

All Big Black songs were like that -real tight, then when he collaborated with basically Scratch Acid to do Rapeman, the drummer, Rey “Roland” Washam, was so good you couldn’t tell it wasn’t programmed.

I was fortunate enough to have a knowledgeable current source of music as a friend with a good point of reference, and I was able to hear these musical releases within one or two years of their release. My choice of friends has always included those with great musical tastes! Big Black was definitely one of the most unique flavors of influence for me. I have flashbacks of music that I used to listen to and I remember who it was that turned me on to that music.
