Riding dirt bikes in sand, clay, mud, snow for years, before ever hopping on a road bike was invaluable experience.

I bet! I never really rode dirt bikes before. I would like to try it though! Appreciate you watching!

Most sketchy time on gravel was when my mom had a new load of gravel on her driveway. Heavy bike sunk in it like the titanic and I was fortunate to keep her up. Always good to practice outside the comfort zone !

Deep gravel is no joke. That is one of the very few times I’m ok with duck walking while turning. You turn your wheel too much with your feet up, you’re going down! Ask me how I know 😂

Very educational…thank you…..I ride a Honda NC750DCT……I do practice in a car park, but never tried this on gravel…..I really find that looking level and where you want to go…..just does the job, and subtle back brake…..but I still need to practice on gravel….thanks for sharing

Outstanding video Joe, myself having a quarter of a mile gravel driveway it makes for great practice straight up😊 because you ARE going to encounter Gravel out there!

Thanks Bart! You are 100% correct. I know when I first started riding gravel freaked me out. Now I’m making U-turns on it for fun 😂 Appreciate you watching brother!

Its all about the friction zone baby!!! It's amazing what you can get the bike to "stand up" through w/ controlled power to the rear wheel.

Tight uturn for not leaning the bike. I need to practice more in the gravel, dirt, and uneven surfaces.
@JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures7 ай бұрын
Yes sir! We gotta practice for all situations. The bike can actually make an 18ft U-turn without leaning. Appreciate you watching!

You've really come into your own and have gained my respect as a legit rider and NOT just a youtuber. It has been great watching your journey and the variety of content provided.... well, except for that "Chuck" silliness. Thank you

what advice for 10' uturn ?? 22' is a cake walk
@JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures7 ай бұрын
Well, I don’t have any advice for a 10’ u-turn on gravel. Unless you’re riding a mini bike, I don’t think you’ll be able to 😂 But I’m sure there’s someone out there that can prove me wrong
@rugershooter52687 ай бұрын
And the other way......go out find a rat bike rider to show it to you......left foot down, handlebars lock left, lean left, rev engine hold it, pull front brake(the good ones don't need the front brake) pop clutch and just slide it around...........learn first on grass There's an anti-harley utubr fortnine that can show you this on adventure bike(there is a video) It's what I did 50y ago on dirt bike....and even on the blacktop, had to rev it higher.....of course I haven't ridden a dirt bike in 50y, and my bones are too brittle to start again.......my bikes don't go off road
@JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures7 ай бұрын

Sorry, but that's impossible. You can't turn a bike w/o leaning. The higher the speed the more lean angle you need. So what you're really doing is to go so slow that the bike barely leans on it's side.
@julieherbst44457 ай бұрын
I try not to do u-turns, then I pray I don’t fall🤣🤣🤣
@JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures7 ай бұрын
You don’t have to pray to not fall if you practice! A U-turn can be simple if you use the right technique. It’s one of the most common practical exercises you’ll use while riding in the real world. Spend some time in the parking lot practicing, you’ve got this!
@julieherbst44457 ай бұрын
I bought at 49, a gsxr 750😬, even the guy selling it told me, it’s not a beginner bike, my brother told me I was going to die🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, which intrigued me even more, well now I’m 51, a woman, and have learned how to lane split, and everything else, I still pray on the u turns
@JoeGoeMotorcycleAdventures7 ай бұрын
@julieherbst4445 you’d be amazed how much slow speed techniques transfer over to riding at speed. Plus when you learn how to ride at slow speeds, it makes your experience so much more enjoyable!
