So hear me out because I'm loseing my mind. I didn't play the game, but I mostly know what happend. What if they made a small change for the season 2 and Joel tells Ellie the truth few days after they came back. Ellie knows that he lied, because she could sens that, and is not mad about this per se but she doesn't get it so she asks him why he did it. Joel says that at the time it seamed like the only choice and that he already let one dughther die, he couldn't let it happend to another. He also says that if one day she decides to do it he will support her, but that it's not resposabiility to save the world, that had been broken before she was even born and that she most than anyone deserves to live a happy life ( she's only forteen for fuck sake) They both cry by the end and Ellie accepts this and forgives him and they leave together ( because it's insane to think that after what they been throught this two could leave in differerent homes without having anxiety and worrying about the other constantly, don't let me even mention they condependency) and have an amazing years even if full of hardship. Thought Abby still comes and Joel still dies (or he doesn't but we don't know until part 3 - can't you imagine the fucking reunion ❤) and Ellie still sees it. Would't it have a more impact on her, if they were in a good place and he's reaped from her life suddenly, instead of whatever they did in the game. 😢
