WARNING! MAJOR SPOILER ALERT FOR THE LAST OF US PART II!
Hey everyone, this is the first GMV we've done this year (not that we do them often!) we finished playing The Last of Us Part II and just had to make a bittersweet edit about Joel and Ellie.
I know a lot of people were disappointed with the storyline of the second game but I personally really enjoyed it. Whilst I still adore The Last of Us storywise, Part 2 definitely takes the cake for me gameplay-wise. The game was a piece of art, stunning and great to explore.
I thought I'd end up absolutely hating Abby, but honestly, her relationship with Lev definitely softened and made me warm to her. Definitely one of my favourites just working toward getting that platinum trophy right now!
I do not own the content in this video!

Alessia Bazzurro did she even see him as a father? Not once did she ever say she loved him not even in his last breath, not once did the chemistry they shared in Last of us 1 show thru after she became an adult, the character development in the game just seemed shitty all the way thru... I wish they woulda just expanded on what was there it was kinda hard to ruin such a perfect franchise.. but they did

@@GhostInPajamas maybe because he was killed like a dog for pure shock value? Making all the abby part to empatize her and convence the player that joel deserved that death? Meanwhile the cordyceps is a fungus not a virus, so joel just save ellie because IN REALITY that vaccine will never work.
@GhostInPajamas
@GhostInPajamas 4 жыл бұрын
Random Comments it wasn’t for shock value, he dies as a direct result of his actions in the first game, something we all knew was gonna happen if there was a sequel. And it’s what drives the entire narrative of the game, including the flashbacks. It’s not like he dies and then the game is about something else. I love Joel, I didn’t want him to die, but he did kinda deserve it. He not only doomed all of humanity, he murdered some girls father. It’s really not hard to empathize with her, someone murders your dad youre gonna want revenge, right? In Abbys minds she’s completely justified and Joel is evil, in Ellies mind Joel is taken from her before she could fully forgive him and she sees Abby as evil. The games just showing that this world has consequences, all those people we killed as Joel had friends of family, just like it would be in real life. Every conflict is a matter of perspective, everyone thinks they’re the good guy. With him dying the way he does, the player feels the same feelings as Ellie throughout the game, initially confusion and hatred, and as we get to know Abby we’re challenged to sympathize with her just as Ellie is. If you don’t wanna sympathize with her cause she killed your favorite character, fine, but it’s really easy to see why she did it. I dunno what you’re talking about the fungus vs virus thing, they never said the vaccine wouldn’t work because it’s a fungus
@randomgod6371
@randomgod6371 4 жыл бұрын
@@GhostInPajamas lmao and thats why you all guys are hypocrites, you all claim that the game is realistic about how joel die, and how ellie forgave abby. But in reality that thing is not true. NOW READ AND TAKE OUT YOUR FANBOYISM ABOUT TLOU2. CORDYCEPS is a FUNGUS not a virus in real life is nothing like a vaccine against any kind of fungus, so basicly Joel didnt deserved his death because Ellie would die for nothing. Is a videogame kid, not a book, not a movie the plot is pretensious besides the horrible narrative order. And to be clear, in real life vengeance has not always bad ending, in reality people dont forgave each other magicly because is the right thing to do. You all use the same comment about how the game is "deep, you must have open mind, you dont understand it because you didnt play it". 0 solid arguments whatsoever. The joel death was pure shock value, not development in his death, the guy never trust anybody he was smart the way how naughty dog manage the story is poor and lazy just to push abby character to the moon like a wwe script. Then again you cant empatize some random bitch who killed the former main loved protagonist, and if you do, that means you never get the plot of TLOU first game. TLOU world teach you that humanity is fucked besides the cordyceps, human been is egoistic, and no cure will save humanity. The storytelling is pretensious kid and if dont want to see it fine keep playing tlou2 and put pause on abby sex scene and be happy. Not all the people loves to eat shit like all of you.

at the end she doesn't have her guns and equipment and is wearing Dina's bracelet again. I'm assuming she went back to get her stuff or Joel's guitar but decides against it, signalling that she's finally trying to move on. The bracelet makes me think the end takes place many months later due to how messed up the house looks and because of the bracelet. Had it been her coming back after her trip to California, she'd be cut, still slightly tanned, and with everything on her back. But she's in her clothes from Jackson (Joel's fall shirt from TLOU1).

Hello no offense mate but the story is trash but visually and I’ll tell you why the last of us part 2 story is trash and not just because Joel died in a ridiculously way but of Abby and Ellie’s story Ellie and Abby stories are the same EX: when Ellie is hunting down Nora she need to cut through some building full of stalkers and 1 clicker and when Abby falls from the crane she needs to cut through a building full of shamblers stalkers clickers, EX: when Ellie and Dina gets ambushed, Ellie is taken hostage but Dina saves her, and when playing as Abby she gets ambushed and taken hostage, they put a knot around her neck but she is saved by lev and his sister So yeah Abby and Ellie’s gameplay are almost the same

Faxtel -4_ Up until this moment I thought part 2 has to be this dark game about hate where we grieved Joel and saw how Ellie lost herself. But your comment just made me think about that last message Naught Dog left for us, the new menu screen. It’s a message about hope. And I just realized that, if Abby’s enlightenment moment occurred at the Theatre, Ellie’s occurred at Santa Barbara. At that moment she decided to not consume the last bit of humanity left in her. She found the light at the end of the tunnel. She let it go. She found the light in that last conversation with Joel. She can try and forgive someone that took away her life’s meaning.

Does that mean we are going to track down Ellie because if Abby and Lev did regroup with the fireflies and the fireflies are still finding a cure, and since Ellie is like the only person that’s immune, so does that mean the fireflies are going to attack Jackson just so they could get to Ellie ? 🤔 because that’d be interesting, bro. Honestly the ending was not as cold and bitter as one might think. When Ellie returned to the farm she was wearing Dinas bracelet indicating that she probably went back to Jackson. Also, the final scene showed that she is ready to forgive Joel meaning she can finally move on and leave the past behind. I read this quote somewhere that nails it for me: „The Last of Us 1 ends hopeful on the surface but with misery underneath whereas The Last of Us 2 ends with misery on the surface but hopeful underneath.“

@@ItsATwinThingYT Yep, is subjective at all. But I do find myself loving the second game, specially the Joel and Ellie's parts, I also liked Dina, but after my second playthrough I tought myself that this girl is pretty annoying. I love the way Tommy was so angry in this game that make him an badass killer by killing the intire Manny squad and also nearly killing Abby if it wasn't for Yara of course. Ellie was also Badass in this game, but at same time still a baby girl that Joel knew. About Abby is that she was not a bad character but it for surely was not good either, but I still don't like the way Joel died. Also I don't like the way Jesse died, I mean he died seconds before that the person right him is immune and he dies like a piece of shit, if Dina wasn't pregnant I wish she died instead of Jesse...

It's not missing the point. It's just the typical revenge and redemption arc that has been done before. To me it's not Joel's death that bothers me it's the huge amount of plot armor and to many coincidences that throws me off and makes it laughable at points. There is not enough character development with a lot of the characters and to many characters out of character. The pacing was off also. I thought it was an alright sequel overall but I did enjoy and think there was some amazing parts and scenes in there. It's a beautiful game graphically and good gameplay. It works as a third person shooter. But to me story falls flat. There was so much more they could of done and still included the revenge story with redemption arc.

The Last Of Us Part II was loved, appreciated and seen as a unique masterpiece by so many people... The Last Of Us Part II won the game of the year at the PlayStation Awards, with maybe 3 million more “user votes”! The Last Of Us Part II received 196 official critic awards, 65 official user vote awards, and a total of 261 official awards at the award ceremonies! It was the piece that won the most game of the year awards in history. So The Last Of Us Part II is GOAT!! You have to be an idiot not to understand all of this!! Also, The Last Of Us Part II has extremely excellent and unique gameplay... The Last Of Us Part II is the best masterpiece in animation, level design, artificial intelligence design, melee, firearm use, particle designs, atmosphere design and game development... Npc dialogues = When an npc human or an npc dog dies, other npc people lament for dead npc human or dead npc dog, shout with anger, go crazy, swear to take revenge on the person who killed their loved one and are filled with negative emotions. That's why npc people act like real people and make them feel like real people... Looking at the post-apocalyptic dystopia design and the notes in this world, it is clear that there is always someone taking revenge on someone, always full of negative emotions... This is a personal, deep, psychological and special journey... The Last Of Us Part II turns its own post-apocalyptic universe into a powerful dystopia. It doesn't just tell a story. It processes the people in a mind-blowing way and places them in a dystopian universe with an enormous fiction. It connects the characters in it to the dystopian universe that it has created in relation to each other with thematic and emotional bonds. It explains in a magnificent way why this universe exists, the people in it, what is going on in this universe. Especially The Last Of Us Part II does this very well... And there is no other work in the industry that can do this with narrative techniques. The Last Of Us Part II is a work that has perspectives on the philosophy of utilitarianism, secular humanism, the meta-ethical branch of ethical philosophy, political philosophy at certain points (describing state destruction and criticizing the essence of the state, paralleling some of the thoughts of Thomas Hobbes) and moral relativism. The Last Of Us Part II deals with Thomas Hobbes' understanding of "homo homoni lupus" or "man is a wolf to man" very well... It also has a structure that tells the story of statism and the state order. Because the state is the only official authority that provides real justice. The state is a structure that puts people in order, rises above moral relativism and establishes a fundamental system of criticism and judgment in a smart and correct manner, which no one can object to. As in the novel 1984, the state can use this power for manipulation... And if the state collapses, the only law is the laws of nature, the strong one (he/she) provides his/her own subjective justice and the ethics of this is debatable, because since man is a thinking being, the strong one (he/she) will use tolerance and weakness to provide his/her own ideology and his/her own justice. Philosopher Karl Popper also says this. Here people live with the survival instinct inherited from our ancestors in the destroyed order because the laws of nature are cruel and this survival instinct is really at its peak. Under normal circumstances (today's order), a good, angelic person can be an angel with bloody hands and a broken wing in this universe (the post-apocalyptic dystopia of The Last Of Us)... This universe shows how different people can be in different orders, people can practice behaviors that seem distant from them but can be close at the same time... So people are neither black nor white, they are gray, they are angels with bloody hands... This is a tremendous dystopian post-apocalyptic universe. It is the design and expression of the apocalyptic universe... A different dystopian narrative, presenting different and original perspectives, presenting good and evil and all opposite concepts in gray without distinction makes The Last Of Us Part II a great "masterpiece" on the subject of "narrative". ... You are so wrong! You should read Paul Bloom's book Against Empathy! Empathy is a relative concept, and if you don't understand the philosophy of empathy, you shouldn't talk about it. The Last Of Us Part II is easy on empathy, so The Last Of Us Part II doesn't force empathy. This is already impossible... Empathy is unique to the person. The Last Of Us Part II deals with the concept of empathy very well... And The Last Of Us Part II cares about the main characters and the side characters around the main characters and handles them really well... So The Last Of Us Part II has extremely well-written characters. Other side characters serve meaningful and deep points in the story. You feel like they all have a purpose in the "narrative" of The Last Of Us Part II... The Last Of Us Part II characters render very well in gray tones and embed the concept of moral relativism very well into the characters... Every character (especially the main characters) is like a real person. The feelings and thoughts of the characters are presented in a realistic way and the character is definitely catchy and impressive, as each one feels like they are real-world people. Abby has been tortured by rattlers and has lost her majesty and become pathetic. Abby barely has the strength to stay afloat. Ellie unravels it, but they are stunned because now Abby has been tortured worse than death. Then blood gets involved, Ellie's own blood from PTSD reminds her of "Joel's death" and then she can't let Abby go and they fight. Later, the breaking of Ellie's fingers symbolizes guitar, the blood spilling into the water symbolizes Joel, life and human and Ellie's torture by strangling the defenseless and exhausted Abby symbolizes Joel's death. And an epiphany (Go to search) ensues. Later, she remembers a very meaningful "memory" she had with Joel, and this memory begins with Joel playing the guitar. This memory is the “moment” when she decides to forgive Joel, and this moment is the memory of the conscientious relief that comes from forgiving despite everything that has happened, the effort to start a new life with a clean slate despite everything that happens. In this way, she chooses to get rid of his feelings by "hesitating". Ellie wasn't there for revenge anyway, she was actually there to bring herself closer to Joel. Ellie went to find Abby to make up for her inability to save Joel. She had long since given up on revenge, she. Months had passed and Ellie had completely changed... As she said in the farm scenes... Ellie had not fully forgiven Joel. That's why Ellie was so angry with Abby. Ellie was angry with Abby for taking away her chance to forgive Joel. Ellie was so angry at Abby for killing Joel while they were on a bad break. And Ellie went to find Abby to fully forgive Joel. Ellie was there to make up for her inability to save Joel. In fact, Ellie was mostly angry with herself because she thought she had betrayed Joel. Ellie fought with Abby because she was so angry with herself and therefore to suppress the feeling of regret on herself, and for the reasons I explained in the finale, she realized that forgiveness is actually the medicine for revenge and anger... And it was indeed a great finale. There is also a biblical reference. In the Bible, water symbolizes new life, rebirth, and purification from sins. The Last Of Us Part II is truly an "emotional roller coaster" masterpiece... 16-Death Stranding 91/100 15-What Remains Of Edith Finch 91/100 14-Inside 92/100 13-Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception 92/100 12-Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice 93/100 11-Silent Hill 2 93/100 10-Shadow Of Colossus 93/100 9-The Witcher 3: A Wild Hunt 93/100 8-Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End 94/100 7-Chrono Trigger 94/100 6-The Last Guardian 94/100 5-Persona 5 94/10” 4-Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 94/100 3-Bloodborne 94/100 2-God Of War 95/100 1-The Last Of Us Part II 96/100 Bonus-The Last Of Us 93/100
