We are praying for you and your family. I appreciated the insight that you shared at the end, "What I think is really frustrating is that the people that shouldn't be going to missions are the ones who don't think about whether they are qualified or not, and so they just do it. And then the people who should be going to missions are thinking, 'I am probably not qualified.' But they probably actually are qualified, but they are just so scrupulous, so they don't just do it...I think we need more pastors and friends goading each other to be missionaries if we think our brother is qualified, just pressing them into it if we think they are gifted for it."

I became aware of you, Joel, through your recent interview on the Behold Your God Podcast. So impacted was I by your testimony and the video that it served as part of my family's devotion that evening, which led to a very useful and fruitful conversation regarding the necessity of suffering. My family and I are praying for you and yours. I found this video to be very insightful, not only regarding missions but how applicable what you said is to the practice of open-air preaching. While I wish there were open-air preachers on the streets in every city around the world, I believe there are too many unqualified men (and women) on the streets presuming to serve as heralds. Like the missionary, I believe the open-air preacher should have the qualifications of an elder, whether or not he aspires to serve in that capacity. Anyways. This was a very encouraging video and I agree with your position on world missions.
