Day 3: Be Comfortable Not Knowing

I was in the hospital 27 nights with covid, that's when I discovered your TV show. Everyone was scared and confused and of course I could have no visitors. So after 4 months of hard work at home I finally got over it. I was just about to go back to work when I found out I have cancer, so a new battle to fight. But I learned a lot from Joel. I accepted Jesus and I know my life is in God's hands. My Oncologist says I am the most positive patient she has had. I even crack jokes and break the somber mood at the chemo center where about 9 people are being treated and uncertain about their future. Thank you so much for your infectious positive attitude !!

Joel's voice at conversational level is even more compelling than his stage voice, assuming he is in that zone. Brother Paul has a different voice but it also has deep & quiet resonance, very compelling. Ironically Victoria has a voice for stage, like most ladies as the family manager (!), but I bet a smaller radio studio would bring out her conversational voice more - and it would be awesome. Voice is everything.

Wow, what Victoria said just struck me. That part about expecting things to turn right away. Sometimes I'm doing the right thing and expecting things to go smoothly and expecting no difficulties. But that's not always how it works and I really struggle with being patient and continuing despite the rough road. I know that something I need to work on.

I'll never forget how me and my husband came to know Joel. It was around 2006 or so. My husband and I were young parents and we couldn't agree on much. One day, he and I were arguing so bad that we were at the point of exhaustion. We were just sitting in the living room in silence and my husband turns to me and asks did you turn the channel? My being so focused on how upset I was...I was so confused by why he was asking me this. ..I told him no that I hadn't changed it and I asked why. He said bc I swear that he is talking to me and then I started paying attention to the TV and there was Joel. Our toddler son may have changed the channel but I believe however it happened God had something to do with it. We have watched Joel ever since. We even went to a night of hope event in Chicago. I thank God that he put someone like Joel on this earth to spread his word in ways that make sense to people. He truly reaches his audience. I can't wait to read the new book, I just ordered now!
