Great review, how loud is the disc drive, I’m worried about fan noise etc?

They are a little noisy but no different then a G-Tech or comparable one. .

Do you know what the transfer write speed is for LaCie 4TB 1big Dock SSD Pro? How large the data has to be before it stars to slow down GB/s.
@JoelWallis3 жыл бұрын
The manufacturer says up to 2800 MB/s for the transfer speed but when I did the speed test I got around 2259 MB/s. For the large data before it starts to slow down question, I am not to sure but I am sure if you reached out to Lacie they would know.

Pretty crazy how fast the SSD Pro is and I love that these drives will charge your laptop vs the Firecuda Gaming Dock will not.

Hey, I bought this 1Big Dock 16TB, it works fine using Thunderbolt3 in my iMac, but it doesn't work using USB-C cable on my laptop. Have you tried using this dock in a laptop or desktop using USB-C cable?

Joel I have a question for you. I purchased a big dock 10TB , not the SSD version. When in use it is very noisy. Clicking, clunking, and gurgling. Is this normal? I have other Lacie drives and they are much much quieter.
@JoelWallis3 жыл бұрын
Since the Big Dock 10TB contains a spinning drive it is normal to hear those noises. My G-Raid Shuttle XL does the same thing.

At 3:55 please correct the fact that the HDD does not have 7200 read & write speed, it's the revolutions per minute it operates at. Would also have been useful to have made a noise comparison between the two. I'm not sure I would like to lug a 7.17 Lbs disk with power cable to a coffee shop with me every time, but I guess everyone has their own fitness regime. Oh, and you forgot to mention your disclaimer: Did Lacie provide these to you for review or did you buy them yourself? kinda important.

I did notice, but I belive that there is no need for it. 1. The actual performance in the video.2. People that know will notice and people that don't will not care and just hear bla bla bla 7200 bla bla and forget about it before the end of the video. The only ones at risk are the ones trying to be cool and sound as if they know about technology but are too lazy to put the word, it's good if they say something clearly wrong .

Great review, and very good product. The issue is the prices are way off, some times I believe that traditional European brands are not aware of the change the word had. We can go to the internet and check prices. Same for other brands like profoto or broncolor. They can always go to papa-government and pass laws agains American and Chinese brands instead of improving, but they will come a day people of other countries will get fed up with them. Max capacity is also pretty low. I don't know why are doing this, I hope they wake up before it's too late, because they are nice brands and I know they have nice people on them.
