Joely Richardson, Louise Brealey and more read hilarious fan letters to The Beatles

At the height of Beatlemania, the band and its fan club received thousands of letters each day from adoring fans around the globe.
Louise Brealey, Joely Richardson, Vera Graziadei and Nina Sosanya joined us at Hay Festival in Wales to read just a few of these brilliant letters.

it will never fizzle out, it's growing momentum.they are finally making a beatles movie about their career, it doesn't come out till 2026 though. it is being directed by two directors.i'm not happy about the two directors chosen.one made rocketman about elton john, and the other made elvis with tom hanks as colonel parker.i hated both movies and thought they were terrible.

My grandmother gave me a book with such letters in 1971. I was 6 years old. Given it’s bright coloured cover and cartoon illustrations and size I don’t think she realised it wasn’t a children’s book! I used to think it might be worth something someday, but I recently discovered one of my children scribbled over a number of the illustrations in it back in the 1990s. There’s my pension plan ruined
