I bought mine off eBay with no battery. I bought a 561wh downtube battery and it’s works fine. I also bought the optional thumb throttle, I’m glad I did as I find the electric assist awful and it continues to work even when freewheeling down hill. Consequently I just set it up using the throttle only.

I wonder if attaching a thin foam strip under where the battery attaches might help keep the battery snug, so it wouldn't wiggle? Might be worth trying if they don't give any better suggestions.

I was just going to buy one of these for my road bike for the ease and handiness of it all. But that's turned me right off it now. Especially at 600 euro !
