Heaths Joker was the most dangerous version of all of them and the most intelligent, because he wasn't insane, his end goal and he had a clear end goal was that of an accelerationist, that the system is irreparably damaged and needs burning down, if you agree with this philosophy or not i personally don't, mines one of gentle slow small improvements, nudging a but not drastic massive changes, these always boomerang around.

I think what's so great about Joaquin Pheonix's performance is how he humanised the Joker so well, he a took very surreal, comic book character and stripped away the veneer to leave just the human side of him on show, you could now see beneath the makeup and what sort of a person the Joker really was. And that just made the character all the more unsettling, because we've all encountered people with little bits of Joker in them during our lives and maybe even recognise a little bit him in ourselves.

This is not really a Joker (as in Joker from the Batman) movie. Todd Phillips himself (writer and director) said that these days you need to come to producers with a comic book script to get money. So he turned a story that he wanted to tell and dressed it in a very superficial Joker clothes and he got the money. Watch the movie again (or just remind yourself of the story) and take away all the Joker & Batman elements from it - it's still the exact same movie. The idea that this is how Joker could come to be is interesting, but that's just a an extra. The greatness of the movie or the performance has nothing to do with the fact that it was supposedly a Joker movie.
@purpledove70082 жыл бұрын
@clyde_1 Why do people credit phoenix for this as if it was his idea?? This was how the movie was written. It was in the script. The whole idea was to humanize the joker. Joaquin didnt just decide to do this. People give actors way more credit than they deserve. They are the puppets, not the puppeteers.

I think that's the beauty of Batman and Joker. Both tainted by tragedy and trauma, but Batman seeks to save people from this fate and Joker relishes in it. Both seeking to convince the other that their outcome is inevitable. Batman needs the hope that even Joker can be saved, Joker tormenting Batman to see that deep down Batman is as demented as he is. @@politelyimpolite That's of little help to someone traumatized. If money helped people overcome their tragedies then rich people would never commit suicide. In fact, there is evidence that poor people are more resilient precisely because they have experienced privation and have learned to deal with it. @Chiku N honestly I think JP was missing his touch in having a conversation. He interrupted joe a lot. When Joe tried to make a suggestion JP cut him off and didn't let Joe finish the sentence. Also, when Joe tried to bring a new thought forward JP started to talk about himself or his experiences in relation to that thought without even letting Joe finish what he had intended to say. JP also didnt ask Joe any questions, suggesting interest in what Joe had to share. The first 2 hours felt like a lecture. Joe even told JP he was going on a rant. It was bit hard to watch tbh.

"The sharper the pencil the more viable it becomes as a tool, it becomes keen and able. And keen and able, like Kain and Able can be used to do terrible things. Unfortunately for the pencil it gets smaller and smaller as it dulls and is resharpened, its a metaphor for life bucko. You will have points you are actually utterly useless until you apply a blade and cut away the fat to be worth something again! Learn to enjoy the pain of becoming someone who's worth something! A mechanical pencil on the other hand never gets shorter, just the lead it uses. The mechanical pencil is the human desire for eternity, something that never needs replacing, although it does. You still need the lead, which is still less than a whole pencil."
@esotericVideos2 жыл бұрын
Yung always talked about pencils because Yung understood that wood is the foundation for the human soul... It's no coincidence that Pinocchio was made of wood, and every psychologist worth their salt will tell you as much. Sure, some post modern types will argue that pencils aren't pure wood, they've got rubber and graphite and a whole host of other things... and fair enough, I'm not going to claim graphite is the same thing as lead let alone wood, but the important thing is that Jesus was nailed to a WOODEN CROSS, now that's not a coincidence, because even back in the bible they understood that Jesus was the pencil of the human spirit. And through man's embodiment of Jesus they can try to live eternally, even if it's just as the metaphorical hero.

Well said, Jordan. Joker is a modern masterpiece, which is why the left tried to rubbish it, claiming it was a film promoting incels. The majority of the woke critics tried to cancel it before they'd even seen it. It then won best actor at the woke Oscars, shutting the bullsitters up.

@Oswald Cobblepot. He was pointing out the hypocrisy of the paradox. What's in your phenomenal archive of cinema that entitles you to write someone's opinion off because they allegedly only watch "crap" movies?? C'mon, dude.

Joker was very good, but it wasn’t a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. It wasn’t even the best film of that year, in my opinion. What you see as “the left” rubbishing it is just culture war from many right wing figures who attempted to claim the film as their own artistic territory, whilst absolutely not understanding the themes of the story that was told.

It feels so good to see him laugh while he eloquently explains how joker is similar to the archetypal story of Cane in the Bibel.

Later today CNN: Extremist Jordan Peterson claims Joker should be a muse for young men on Far Right podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

I rarely get any reaction out of my dad watching movies.. but I got several out of him from Joker. It’s a great movie.. probably in my top5.. but I do think it’s one of those that’s better to watch blindly and with zero expectations. I saw the first wave of people completely thrilled with joker and the second wave setting the expectations unreachable high and left somewhat disappointed.
