Went with a PAC interface so I could just add a ipod years ago... using the cd changer input. Wanted a double din but couldnt get myself to change the stock buttons for the rubber ones that come in every double din kit I guess... that is the only solution for us 1st gen G drivers. Great work knocking this out solo. I paid $800 for double din, a clarion head unit, wires, harness, install for $800 but the steering wheel volume wasn't set up and the clarion isn't anywhere near as nice as this one!

Nice unit! How hard is it to get to AC controls?...I connected my back up camera to my wing and looks factory...If you're concerned with sound quality, I strongly recommend installing sound deadening throughout your car...I did and the frequency response of the head unit improves because you get rid of a lot of engine/exhaust/road noise entering the cabin...

It’s not bad at all! I am thinking about sound deadening the doors and eventually really go deep and do the floor. I already did the trunk and it’s a big difference!

It's such a clean design! I'm really considering! Just curious though, how do you control the A/C and what not? Do you have to reach behind the screen work those controls?

Yeah you have a gap between the ac controls and the back of the screen so you can press buttons, I’m familiar with which ones I need to press to turn on ac so I just do it by feel now

100% worth it no problems! Keeps factory steering wheel controls and reverse camera are amazing. Not to mention wireless CarPlay that not many head units have still and this is a no brainer!

Dasaita HU is lit only remaining factor is support for OBD which SHOULD be simple I have like 3 different obd bluetooth devices spent about 350 on them all together none of them pair correctly which sucks can only control via iphone torque or car scanner

Two things: clean it with leather conditioner once a month, and use a window shade thing that reflects the sun. My G is from 04 and has zero damage.

Metra 99 is for 2003-2004 g35’s and metra 95 is for 2005-2007 g35’s!
