PS: I do enjoy watching the "engineer" in you figuring out how to solve the problems you come across to make your typing tips work well for yourself and us too!

This is excellent! My Remington has a very similar carriage--can't wait to give this a try!

Great idea about cutting the "poster sized" paper in half Joe. However?.Many of us who live in apartment buildings DON'T have access to a table saw. Unless we TIP our SUPT. heavily at Christmas! LOL

You're making me have to break out BOTH my typewriters at the same time Joe! One for standard individual sheets of paper and the other to try out your "paper roll" suggestion. Did you use a newswire TELETYPE roll of paper or something different?
@johnc.bojemski17573 жыл бұрын
I'll see if any of my old outfits are still using the original teletype machines and if they are I'll make notes of them to "send" to you.
@johnc.bojemski17573 жыл бұрын
The "AP" or "UPI" machine rolls ALWAYS rolled well and fell to the REAR once "started" correctly in that direction. Maybe you should just allow more "waste" at the beginning of your roll and it'll fall correctly for you?

I have the charger 11 in that color too. It's my only typewriter. I love it. I think my one is a '68?

Check the typewriter database to see where your serial number falls.

@@Joe_VanCleave Yep, starts L82 so they say its Nov 68 I think. I've been using 9x12 newsprint. I'll try this mod too for roll paper. Thanks!

Any chance if you patenting your "roll of paper thing" and going into production or licensing it out to a manufacturer? Some of us are technology and tool challenged! LOL

I’d get it!

www.criticalpast.com/video/656... Joe, check out this 50's or very early 60's one minute video; it's an "endless roll" in action in the workplace. Wonder if Kerouac might of got his idea when him and Allen Ginsberg were in the Merchant Marine.
@Joe_VanCleave7 жыл бұрын
Most likely a roll of teletype paper, which was what Kerouac used. Thanks for the link.

Is there a way to pay for one?
@Joe_VanCleave6 жыл бұрын
I'm hesitant to make one for others because these brass hangar brackets were configured for this specific brand of typewriter.

Sir how can I find paper roll
@Joe_VanCleave11 ай бұрын
In the US I find 17 inch wide rolls of white paper at office supply stores like Staples. Then I cut the roll in half with a power miter saw (!) to make two letter-width rolls! You may find some online like on Amazon.
