Hi Joey! American historian here. In the original talks about the founding of the country voting was restricted to “educated property owners”. No restrictions on race, sex, etc. you had to be educated in order to actually know what’s going on and own land so you were actually invested in the community you were voting to change. In at least Maryland, women and blacks did vote in early elections but they were restricted in later revisions of their state constitution.

I don't think that the "educated" term was meant literally, but rather morally. "Owning property" was the real issue, i.e. caring about the interest of the wealthy, against the dispossessed. That's what American history has always been about, as you know better than me being an historian
@VelvetColt4 ай бұрын
Yeah because it used to be one vote per family, as well by extension. A family with generational stakes got together and decided how to vote. Now we have childless, single renters voting for more free shit and women voting for endless browning so they don't feel bad. It's crazy. Why try to convince a whole family unit how to vote for the interests of families when you can separate the family unit into individual pieces (including impressionable teens and naive or bitter women) who vote on their own for their own jaded interests and outvote members of society that actively participate in it in a positive way? Honestly, only people who pay a certain amount of taxes every year, military service members (previous too) or those who own land or own businesses that employ people should vote. Any welfare or services used should render you unable for a period of time, like 4-8 years. I'd argue certain degrees or sources of debt should disqualify* too
@CivilizedWarrior3 ай бұрын
@@khawass yeah, I think by “educated” they meant more along the lines of “literate.” Many founding fathers were educated at prestigious institutions in Europe, but many others either went to early universities in the Colonies, or were simply tutored at home, either by their fathers, or by a hired tutor/teacher. I don’t think you had to have actually attended a college to vote, I think they just meant you have to be able to read and write, etc. because many of the common people were still illiterate in those days. If you were going to vote, you had to be able to read newspapers to keep up with current events, and obviously you had to be able to write in your vote on the actual ballot. So I think by “educated” they just meant “not illiterate.”

Sometimes i watch you're channel, and it makes me laugh, in awe, confused en bewondered. I even cried a little when i saw en hearded the little boy play his gitar! Damn, i felt i'd been struck by a nostalgic lighting....... I come from a different time, like a timetraveller almost. When i grew up, the times were so different from today. No internet, no mobile phones, no i-pads, no idiocracy what so ever. Well, maybe the slightly disturbed nabour a few doors away, but thats it. A black-and-white tv was all that we watched. I am baffled of what i witness everytime i watch youre channel. And i agreed so much on youre words, when you say that you must not get depressed in any way regarding these mental people all over the world, but just do youre thing at youre home, in the immediate vicinity, in youre town, with youre family and friends. Indeed you cannot change the world as we would like it to be, BUT.. you can change you're perspective regarding it. Very spiritual saying by the way... ;-) This world is indeed an dualistic world, with its darkness, but thank God also very much Lightness. Because there are still a lot of good people out there. And you my friend, are one of them..... Thank You.

@sempre8135 If you wish to go further down the rabbit hole, you'll find this whole thing was intentionally created to cause instability, division, and weakness of people and countries. The ones who created this mess are the globalist elites who control nations and societies from the shadows. They control industry, financing, the EU, the UN, the US, NATO, the media, education, entertainment, sports, science and medicine, etc. They're mostly of European origin. Royal and noble families and bloodlines that go back thousands of years. Their goal is to unite the world under one government, which they, of course, will openly and entirely control. But they can only accomplish that if the people are weak, divided, and ignorant. That's where all of this is heading.
