Slipknot was his life and they screwed him over. And they didn't just kick him out they totally abandoned him, even so petty to unfollow him on IG. But he never bad mouthed them....because he really I think believed in the brotherhood of the 9 and he really loved them and didn't want to bad mouth them. It's very sad that they never brought him back once his leg was working again.

He lived next door to my parents the last few years of his life. They described him as extremely kind, quiet, and a little strange. They would take him Christmas goodies every year, and he'd always want to invite them in to show them around. He even signed all of us a drumstick for Christmas a couple years back. His music, for me, was a haven and an escape for a long time. Lost too soon, RIP

This happen the day after my birthday when I first heard that he passed away I didnt believe it and I was heartbroken because he is my biggest inspiration to me and when I turned 17on July 25th of this year for a whole month I was having extremely bad luck had to get stitches the day of Joey's passing and alot of other things. @@defridox999 He had a disease that killed him when he was only 46, I don't remember which one exactly. This seems to be the reason for his exit from Slipknot, he couldn't play anymore because he had a leg immobilized, if I remember correctly

never forget the past. never forget how they treated him back in 2013. these guys are fake. all of them forgot about joey since he got fired. all of them unfollowed him on insta. only one of them visited him when he was hospitalized. they fired a founding member who wrote most of their bangers via e-mail. these guys screwed joey up. they treated him like SH..!!!. now when he's dead these fakes go black on social medias without saying a single word. if they would have truly loved him they would have stayed in touch even after going separate ways in music. this tribute video is monetized. they really put ads in a "good bye" video for their brother to make money off of his death. it's a shame. i really hope people realize how fake they became. i'll never go to a concert again. rest easy joey. we will never forget the most talented member. sleep well

This is one of the few deaths recently that actually got to me. Hes just a genuine good and enthusiastic person. I don't want to villainize the band especially not at the time while everyone is grieving their brother but fuck man it hurts bad knowing he was going through tough times isolated from the band, misunderstood and battling and for the past few years, he has been wanting so hard to be accepted and get back in the band because that was his whole world!

Many of us understand where your coming from. Joey was slipknot. And its very sad to see that they are only now saying how much he supposedly meant to them. Especially when they were his freaking brothers in his eyes. Slipknot as of now has become the one thing it never should have been. A commercialize pop rock act that is more concerned with profits then making good meaningful music. With the loss of joey I feel the true slipknot has now died.

Joey and The Rev were the reason I picked up sticks, Psychosocial was the first song I ever played on a kit. I owe a lot to Joey. I loved his talent, his relationships with his bands, his art, his legacy. This is going to hurt for a very, very long time. I just hope he's up there jamming with Paul once again

Him and Paul were magic together. Crazy how the 2 most important parts of keeping the flow going are gone. What's really amazing is that even with new ppl in their spots, you can hear how much they influenced their fill in guys and have helped remain that sound we all love. This video made me cry. Joey was not a classical drummer, he was not a classical musician. He was member of the Slipknot family. He did so many things and did the craziest tricks for the fans. I was also 12, and my brother, who played drums in bend here, introduce me to Slipknot. Joey was my favorite, and when i was 12, i always saying that he will me my husband. 😊 I am thankful that i here them alive, because here are rare to come someone so big. My brother and i collect the money for tickets, we didn't eat for 2-3 days sometimes. It was worth it. Sorry about my English, it's not my first language.

Joey WORKED that snare drum one of the best drummers to ever live. He REALLY worked that snare. He was the person that introduced a lot of newer drummers that really held that extreme metal drummer crown for a long time. Even if, people didn't realize they were listening to extreme metal, Joey was the person that made it extreme metal. The guitars had some tremelo/death metal style picking, but it was the drums of Slipknot that made it extreme... RIP Joey!!!

It has been nearly two years since Joey passed. Ever since I heard about Joey's passing, I have started to become a huge Slipknot fan because I think that is what Joey would have wanted. Let's not forget not only was he a talented drummer but a very talented guitarist, songwriter and all around musician. So very sad that he's gone. He was just a year younger than myself. Truth but with what was going on with joey the right business move was to go on without him as I'm sure with his illness the insane touring schedule with slipknot would have been to much for him. Regardless tho I'm glad they have Jay as a replacement because Jay kills all of Joey's parts and plays them with a passion and respect. I hope we see a loving tribute at the upcoming knotfest

yeah he had transverse myelitis unfortunately, so he couldn't play drums anymore :(

Also lets be very clear, this was Corey and Clowns decision. The rest of the band is ok but these two premadonas decided business comes before friendship.

Rest in peace, great drummer (and guitarist of other) of one of my teenagehood bands, will be missed!💪🏻🎶
