Joey has an excellent product and amazing customer service. He deserves all the business he gets. They were so busy while we were there. People were constantly coming in and getting hotdogs. They are so quick to wait on the customers. It's amazing to watch. Plus I love that it is a Christian business. Hope you are having a great weekend!

I’ve been eating these hotdogs from Joey‘s family since 1964. They are the world‘s best hotdogs in the chili is the best that ever was. Joey is such a wonderful person. I highly recommend jelly’s hotdogs for anyone who wants an explosion of flavor for their meal.

Used to eat at Tony's once a week. He would not sell you a hot dog with ketchup. He was considered the hot dog king in Norfolk ."Often imitated never duplicated ".

The stew that David and his dad (yes he is in the video) make is called Brunswick Stew. There are many variations and recipes. The one they make is popular in our area and they are normally sold out before they even start making it. People are very serious about their Brunswick stew and will tell you what does and does not belong in it. lol The origin of Brunswick Stew is disputed between Brunswick, VA and Brunswick, GA. Have you ever tried Brunswick stew?

I would like to try those hotdogs. We’ve got Koegel’s hotdogs in Michigan and their Viennas have the casing on so they snap when you bite into them. They are by far the best I’ve ever had but I’d like to try those Joey dogs and see how they compare.

Those dogs!! We love the snap in a good hotdog also. Mustard onion and chili is the only way. Looks like a pretty nice restaurant. I'm glad it's a Christian establishment. Joey's has it going on.

What a great find, those hot dogs with the natural casing and the snap look fantastic 😍, nice Christian restaurant, liked the scripture on the wall, and the God bless flag. I laughed when David said he'd probably go back for more, I think that was a safe bet . I also think pop taste much better in glass bottles.like the idea of homemade sides instead of just fries, although I love me some good fries 🍟 Joey seemed like a nice fella 👍 liked the stories he told.Good idea Cindy to try your first dog with chilli to see if you liked it, but it did look scrumptious, like a darker chilli , also like my spaghetti sauce that way. Mark, These hot dogs are so delicious! I wanted to try one of the sausages but I had to go for that second hotdog. lol I like a coke in a bottle. It's so much better in a bottle. We loved the feel of the restaurant and all the employees made you feel at home. Joey was so kind and friendly. Really appreciated him. If you have a chance check out the story on the website of the Norfolk hotdogs. Frank Sinatra used to eat the famous chili dog from Joey's dad, Tony. Glad you enjoyed the video. Hello Cindy and David, Hot dogs 🌭 can be better than steak, seriously! I think almost every town has a famous hot dog that they consider Simply the Best. Most are family run businesses with their Secret Sauce recipe that you can’t duplicate. I also like a good sheep casing hot dog grilled for that perfect snap! We have a really have a great hot dog place. You can also watch them being made on the grill from an outside window. At times, the lines are out the door but they do have indoor seating. I always ask for extra chill( all beef, no beans) and extra onions, ( Cindy, sorry lol). It’s so sloppy that I need to eat it with a fork! One funny thing is they stack the empty buns on the inside of their arms and start filling the orders. I have a short arm so I would have to work double time. Yes, I would definitely try this place if I could. Being local and dedicated to Christian’s is very special indeed. You would not stay in business if the food isn’t good 👍🏻. One more thing from, my area place also steams the buns. A sandwich called a Sundowner is a grilled hamburger with your favorite toppings and a fried egg, to your liking. Yummy. I know for sure I can easily eat 3 HUTDOGS! That’s my way of saying it. Lol😂 Well this 🌬️ Windy Cindy will close out by saying that I genuine care about the 3 of you. Blessings and love 💕. Cindy, I agree 💯about a hotdog being better than a steak. This was an example of one of those times! If you get a chance read the history on Joey's site about the business and his parents. I think you will enjoy it. The hotdog here was so delicious and Joey and his staff definitely know how to get people in and out quickly. They are hard workers and fast! Glad you have a great hot dog place in your area. Most of the time when something is messy it's good! You are right about not staying if business if the food isn't any good. This chili hotdog has almost been around for almost 100 years! I do love a good hot dog and this is one of the best I have ever had. Love that they are not ashamed of the Gospel and use this as a ministry. We genuinely care for you too. If you guys like hot dogs you must try roanoke weiner stand downtown rke city. Very simple menu. But excellent food. Around the corner on church ave downtown is our famous texas tavern. Open 24 hrs a day 7days a week. Try their cheesy western burger and a bowl of chili beans "with"...meaning onions on top. 👍

That float was awesome! You have asked us a tough question but we will do our best to answer the question. First of all you know that we both love Moore's Country Store. David says he thinks he prefers the Joey dog because of the wiener. David is not a fan of hot and spicy food so he really liked the chili at Joey's. When he goes to Moore's he gets the beef (mild) chili. David loves the slaw on his hot dog at Moore's but did not try the slaw at Joey's. He ordered it the way it came. Now for me. I'm a huge fan of the hot chili at Moore's. I always get extra chili on my hot dog. But I have to be completely honest and say that the actual hot dog at Joeys is better than the red hot dog that you get at Moore's. When I bit into that hot dog and it snapped, it was like heaven in my mouth. The chili at Joey's was also delicious. But when you have grown up on something (Moore's Chili) and you love it so, I don't think there is truly a replacement for that amazing taste. I hope that answers your question. I do know that I am going to try to buy some of Joey's hotdogs to bring home to cook on the grill next time I go. I didn't know that was an option when I was there. David says he would not turn down either one. lol
