Gilford was definitely Joey's rarest card. Literally nukes the board of their front line.

Man, I always loved gilford! To me, gilford was always Joey's Egyptian god card, seeing as he could be summoned with three tributes. And when done, he just nukes the opponent's field. A very popular effect in the current meta, but back then? It was something so awesome. Truly, on par with the destructive power of a god

He doesn't just only get summoned by 2 tributes dude...He has a effect like the gods to summoned with 3! god cards effects' can activate once summoned as well!

This is Joey’s truest boss monster Red eyes may be his ace, but gilford is the biggest bad of his deck

If you think about it, Gilford is an ultra rare card that someone like Joey could never afford and when Joey entered battle city, his ultra rare cards were time Wizard and red eyes. Joey probably got Gilford from Marik when he took control of Joey and boosted Joey’s deck

We need a gilford the lightning retrain. Something that allows him to special (not normal summoned) with 3 tributes and allows him to nuke the opponents monsters on either player’s turn.

You can use Kaiser for two tributes

@ChhrrisH2496 As far as I can recall, that doesn't actually work because in order to get Gilford the Lightning's effect, he must be tribute summoned with exactly 3 monsters -- this means that you can't cheat the requirement by using a monster that can act as 2 tributes by itself. You can, however, still tribute summon Gildford by tributing a single Kaiser Sea Horse, but you don't get his effect if you do

@matthewkuscienko4616 well Kaiser would count as 2 per effect. I've done this before with god cards using first monarch and it worked in Duel links

Wheeler can summon something that is his own god that even left Yugi, Kaiba and Marik in shock which is Gilford the Lightning. wow

I like that they gave Jonouchi his own three sacrifice cards. Sure it may not have been up there equal to the gods but it had a devastating effect nonetheless. That roar is just pure awesome. Gilford the lightning is a badass.⚡⚡⚡

It's never explained where the hell these characters get these cards from, right? Joey's Gilford, Yugi's Buster Blader, Kaiba's Chaos Emperor Dragon, etc.

trades and booster packs. some of Yugi's battle city cards we saw in his hands from having opened booster packs. Joey likely caught a hookup from Solomon at the shop. I don't see why he wouldn't since he taught Joey how to duel better.
