I like the duramax and 7.3 ford engines the best but if you build a 6.0 right, meaning fixing their problems they will last and can become insane. I've seen some crazy awesome 6.0's. If you take time with these engines and fix them up, it'll feel like a whole new truck.

@@michealortiz3350 dodge makes the most reliable and capable trucks, though. We have multiple 3rd gen RAM 2500s with the 24v Cummins in them. They’re work/plow trucks and they’ve been used for hauling 40 ton loaders and excavators around on gooseneck trailers and plowing snow ever since we bought them new. (In 2003.) They’ve towed 70 ton loaded logging trucks up steep hills. They all have over a million miles on them and they’ve never given us problems. Never replaced shit on them. I know that Dodge doesn’t own Cummins, but nothing has ever broken on the trucks themselves, either. I would love to see any ford or Chevy truck come even close to doing all that and still be in great condition.

The name is kind of ironic, because all 6 of them snapped rods and threw them through the side of the block. A couple suffered cracked blocks and all of them constantly needed new gaskets. They could barely tow the gooseneck trailers with a load on them so they were basically useless. The trucks themselves kept going through leaf springs, transmissions, and they always needed frame work. Our ford trucks were very similar to the Chevys. All of our ford trucks had 6.0s, 6.4s, 6.7s, and 7.3s. The Ford trucks were a bit better at towing and hauling than the Chevys, but they still couldn’t do it NEARLY as good as our dodges. All of the powerstrokes had issues too, ranging from multiple gasket failures to cracked blocks, blown turbos, snapped cranks, and snapped rods. The ford trucks had good transmissions but their rear ends constantly had issues. Our best Chevy truck had 300,000 miles before it completely fell apart. Our best ford truck had 450,000 miles before it fell apart. Not a single one of our dodges fell apart and actually, they’re all in perfect condition even at 1,000,000 miles.

My 6.0 2006 has been a hell of a good truck but I’m so picky on the schedule of pre maintenance. I don’t run my truck this hard it’s a boat and camper towing machine. There’s upgrades like head bolts, and other items to make them better but I haven’t had to put a wrench on mine just the oil pan bolt.

The t444e is the first powerstroke, it does not have a mechanical fuel pump, it uses a HPOP to fire the injectors. the turbo idi(in-direct injection) which is the 444t. the non turbo which is the 444. the "E" stands for electronically controlled. then the 6.0 powerstroke is the vt365.
