Surprised you don't use a surface float attached to the gun. Shoot a fish and let your rig go.

Sometimes I shoot a float, but you still can't let it go when you're shooting reef fish in water deeper than you can dive. If that fish rocks me up in a 150 foot of water, I just lost a lot of gear.
