I liked her messy relationship with Tommy for the way you could feel their need for each other, to heal, and then, in a painful kind of way (thank you for being the actors you are) when they started to grow apart because let´s face it, two damaged birds can not fix one another. Her and Nick I think they had their time and after what everyone faced with her abduction, including her, trying to go back to the time before it´s always wrong, they are not that people anymore. I respect Nick a little bit since season 2 but season 1 he was, for me, a pill hard to swallow. And then came Cal. What dreams are made off. :) That silent, patient man, always seeing and absorbing more than you think, including everything Emily related but never pushing her in the wrong way. Beautiful to see these two, their friendship and respect, their chemistry. Love them.

I only saw Absentia a few weeks ago but I completely agree with your take on it. Cal brought peace and balance to Emily’s chaos. He understands her pain because he lived it too. Always looking out for her and protecting her putting her needs above his. He made her feel secured, trusted and loved. Yes, he is what dreams are made of!!💖
