At 8:44 in, the Paramount Theater has two movie poster displayed for Basil Rathbone in "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" which has a release date of September 1939. I'll say it again, these films clips are a real treasure, amazing to have color footage from that time period. Thank you, Rudy!

I'm floored by how great this is. (I love AP history) Who/What is the source of these amazing clips. I have looked at hundreds of AP postcards and to see this era in color film is incredible -Thank you, Rudy.

This was a tourism video produced by the town in 1939. My grandfather, Duke Falco, is one of the APHS football players in running drills in the video.

I don't know who took these videos...I think this was some sort of promotional video commissioned by the town back then. It was given to me by a friend who worked in the A/V room in a retirement building....one of the residents had it. It was complete coincidence that we realized it contained footage of my grandfather playing for APHS the year he won the scoring trophy. I am huge into Asbury Park history....my family came from Italy and settled there in the early 1900s....Wish I could have seen the town as it was back in the 40s thru the 60s....must have been something else.

I believe this is a Thanksgiving game against Neptune. My grandfather is in these clips....Anthony "Duke" Falco, Number 15. This was the 1939 season...He was the top scoring player in the state that year...and Asbury "un-officially" were the state champions. I never understood why all the news clippings say they were "unofficial" state champions....
