My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. To be fair, they obviously do take it seriously because they acted in his best interests quickly. I remember getting my second puppy about 4 years after my first dog passed away and even though I had previous experience, it still was very overwhelming and stressful having a new puppy. It's like having a newborn baby that can literally get around on its own and get into trouble very easily! Also, different breeds require different levels of attention and care. Perhaps Green's new owners realized that he needed a much more active and stimulating lifestyle than what they could provide him. Sometimes it is hard to foresee such things. I agree with you that people in general should take getting any kind of pet seriously. Doing research is important IMO.

And I agree with u that they acted very quickly and that's a good thing. I still feel like they weren't committed enough but that could just be a prejudice since that happens many times! I just feel so sorry for that cute baby 😭

They probably thought that the green would have lots of playmates so it’d be a good fit...but while everyone is at work/school he was probably there all alone. Can’t really expect someone to quit their job for the puppy to show their commitment...they did the right thing IMO

I honestly think Green is fine, and his reaction when he returned (acting like nothing happened, eating/drinking out of the bowl he’s used to, playing with his old toys, etc) just reaffirms that. Like Joey said, dogs experience emotions differently than humans do. If it was a human child and he knew that his family returned him, sure he would be incredibly sad. But he doesn’t know that. It’s probably just like leaving your dog at a friend’s house for a week when you’re out of town. It’s not like they can get super attached during that time. At this point he probably feels like Joey and Daniel are more of his family than whomever adopted him. I don’t think we should feel sad for Green. Again like Joey said I’m glad he’s getting another chance about finding a family that’s an even better fit!

I’m so glad the new owners had the sense enough to realize they couldn’t take of green like he deserved BUT I can’t help wonder how much thought they really put into adopting him in the 1st place. Puppies are like human babies when they are this young. They need 24 hour care and attention. I have 2 dogs and 3 kids so yes I am an expert 😂. Adopting a pet is a HUGE responsibility and can not be taken lightly. But I’m just glad Green is home and with Joey who is the sweetest doggie daddy 🐶

I agree with both of you so much! People think birds are easy and have a cute little round cage theyre in 24/7, a handful of seed a day, and sing for them all day long swinging on their singular swing perch with their little mirrors in front of the. Their emotions are developed enough that theyre basically toddlers (many bird owners, particularly crow ,pigeon, and parrot owners actually refer to their birds as cranky toddlers)...would you put a toddler in a crib 24/7 with a mirror and nothing to eat but frosted flake cereal? Frick no! From personal experience i can tell you theyre harder than dogs! Dogs cant fly over the baby gates XD Cats are probably the easiest in my experience, most are very independent and are good as long as you give them access to some snuggles (when they allow it), good food, litter boxes, toys (if they'll play with any), water, a good vet should they need it, a super soft bed (which they may or may not use), and a top notch scratching post (although one of my cats prefer a 10$ cardboard box scratcher to the sisal rope and twine posts we have).

Andrea Keller - I always find it slightly confusing when Joey says the dogs have “rickets” as I’m quite sure that (the medical definition of the condition) is *not* what he means! He seems to use the word when one of the dogs is being particularly high-strung/full of nervous energy - kind of like what people used to call having ‘ants in your pants’ (before it became the title of a kids’ show). If anyone knows why he uses the word in that way, I’d be interested to know! 🤔😉

Technically they are only trianign one as the other is Daniels mums to train and look after as Daniel has said he is not doing it for her (which would be a little ridiculous to do as she is a grown woman and can handle stuff herself) but also I don't think keeping green would be good as they have 4 dogs already to look after so then they would have 5 which is way too many to handle in my opinion
