I definitely agree with this. I am a fan of jj and want him to succeed, because it's nice to see someone from the popular KZbin space succeeding on the mainstream especially since music isn't really KSI's background (Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes don't really count as much because they've always done music). But I must admit it's hard to take his music as seriously because he's coming from the background that he has. I'm sure I'd play No Time especially multiple times if it was made by anyone else (and imo it's still a banger), but the fact that it's KSI makes me hesitant because I can't see him as a full on musical artist at the current moment. However, if he keeps improving, things will change.

@@beestboy2001 its a mental thing. I hear jj and think of him doing things like get hyper or heskey time. I see him reacting to Reddit, or doing weird things on Sidemen Sundays. He's not moving in the same way as people like Drake do, staying out of the spotlight unless they're dropping beats or are getting tagged by fans/paparazzi. Not that he needs to move like Drake or any other popular rapper in order to be good. But lord knows you wouldn't see any other top rapper dumping poop on other people's tents for views. Tbf there are plenty of people who you can't take seriously if you don't see then doing their main job. If I see a sports anchor doing some stuff they're not used to (like a basketball guy commenting on football or something) it feels weird. Again, it's something that I think will change as JJ improves. He already sounds 10x better than on Dissimulation and is infinitely better than anything before that other than 1-2 songs here and there.

I feel since the nature of the album is to be 'all over the place' it feels like a really expensive mix tape to me showing what he can do, overall I feel Dissimulation is the more consistent album and I listened to it again after AOTP and I still enjoy that album more, but I still enjoyed AOTP, just a little less than Dissimulation though, as a full listen

@@ItsBraitho I agree. Dissimulation has way too much autotune and generally poor singing. Most of the tracks, although decent, were mid in comparison to this album's songs. The singing was better, the autotune usage was toned down, and the production was MUCH better. From an objective standpoint, AOTP is the better record. But of course, subjectivity is important in music.
