What an amazing show. I never realized they had a violin player with them. I saw they in 1984 at Ynion College in Schenectady NY. They were mesmerizing.

Got to see them for the first time in 86' in Boston at The Wang. A night I'll never forget!

I was at the show as well as a teenager, trying to remember if it was 85 or '86 but it was the Wang center 86, I remember being kind of cold as well was it the winter?
@mooville32 Жыл бұрын
@@chuffa1130 That was the one! Yeah it was in October. COOOL! We went to Spit afterwards and then the whole band showed up to a party near Symphony Hall (Guy who owned the place, his name was Rick Wang but no relation to the venue) we were at & everyone including the band did a ton of blow all night and I was sitting at a huge dining room table, just me and Ian, and I asked him what he thought of the coke and he replied, "Better then the rubbish in our country." They invited a bunch of us to travel with them to Montreal the next morning to go the next show but I chickened out, I think we all did.

Wow that's very cool that you got to hang out with them after the show! Sounds like they were pretty cool and not too pretentious,
@mooville32 Жыл бұрын
Not all, they were all wicked friendly and up for partying with everyone! Ian was a very pleasant guy. I think they had a last minute fill in drummer if you recall? It was this black guy cuz I think Pete went awol and this fill in guy was having a blast!
@chuffa1130 Жыл бұрын
I don't think I noticed that Pete wasn't drumming, also I think I was up in the balcony if I recall at the Wang center if that sounds right? Great place for them to play way better than the orpheum, I definitely was sad when Pete passed away thinking a motorcycle accident back in the '89 or something

Dear Mr Echo; 3 people have trouble hearing, bad eyesight and poor eye hand co-ordination, resulting in selecting the wrong thumb. Or perhaps they were the 3 people who fell into the water on this night.

Ian Mcculloch and the Bunnymen should have been as hot as U2 and other great bands from that time, they should have come to the US sooner. But it's never too late! Please come back!

@@maryburke5423 I am aware of that, but it was too little, too late. They were here last year, but Ian got sick, he had Covid and his back was killing him. He didn't have a pleasant time.
