Looks to be an amazingly simple but apparently quite effective device for minimalist type coffee drinkers who value sludge free coffee.

That is a cool gadget. Many many times I've burst a tea bag or paper coffee filter and have had to pour my brew through another strainer. Thanks for the demo. That is a useful product.

My wife bought me one of these as a birthday gift last year. Its great! For mornings where I'm short on time I can turn on the electric kettle, have boiling water in a couple minutes, and have coffee ready for on the road. Only thing is Ill occasionally forget I have left the brush inside it and only remember after I finish drinking my entire coffee. lol.

Yerba Mate Bombilla drinking straws are available as well for what seems to be a much less expensive price. I have a few of them and they seem to work well. As far as the grinds go, that is why when drinking Yerba Mate it is tipped so the grinds settle to one side and straw is kept to the other.
@MarkYoungBushcraft

I don't have a true bombilla but I understand the holes on this version are much smaller. If an original one works for you, great. Thanks for commenting

I've been drinking mate for nearly two decades, this works far better. In practice, yes, the mate is on an angle but it pretty much always levels out and buries the bombilla. This will still plug if you just drop mate into the gourd so you still prepare the gourd the same way but there's no comparison between this and traditional bombilla, this is better.
@BradyPatterson

I got this during their Kickstarter and I use it every day for Yerba Mate at home or a loose leaf tea. I also take it camping while hanging out with my bushcraft buddies as we make campfire coffee and there's no filter involved. The JoGo means works perfect to save me from the grit.

The straw, with its crimped end, is already shaped for use as a pocket bellows, with or without the silicone mouthpiece. I have made my own PB with a crimped piece of copper tubing, and the length of the straw should work to nurture a coal into lighting a bird’s nest with no problem. With care, you wouldn’t even have to remove the silicone piece.

Fun review, I love all the ways people come up with making coffee. The Canadian Amazon lists it at $58 while the US Amazon lists it at $25? I have been making coffee concentrate using an Aeropress and carry a small bottle of that with me. It is a lot more convenient to add some to a cup and dilute with boiling water than to bring grounds I will have to pack back out.

@@MarkYoungBushcraft well the whole idea is grate, hence its estsblished use. Doubtless the water has the best chance to be infused with flavour, even as you drink. Did wonder what the effective of strar drinking has on flavour, as opposed to gulping in air with a sip. All to tecnical... Try it alland the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Thanks again Take care Best regards Colin

Wouldn’t the coffee grounds over extract being the grounds stay in so long. Seems the coffee would get extremely bitter or sour or something at some point as it’s being drank.
@MarkYoungBushcraft
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
Yes, over extraction can be an issue. To get the best result, I have had to adjust roast, grind size and amount of coffee. This is most like a French Press where the second cup is often stronger that the first. Thanks for commenting

A gift for someone who has everything else. A Great cause for sure,, and with their profit margin, probably high,, they should donate back. Looking forward to Your Pemmican recipe and Video,,, Joshua
