Splendid ! I believe I have said it before, I think Michael Haydn's religious work is his best music. On the other hand his symphonies are also very fine. Thank you.

When I heard the opening bars, my imagination immediately took me to Mozart K317. I looked at the date, written in 1758; Mozart wasn’t averse to using other composers works. Does anyone see any similarities?

Mozart was a fervent admirer of Michael Haydn. So we often can hear some "M.Haydn" references in Mozart music. Greetings ;-)

M.Haydn fica realmente entre Haydn e Mozart; foi um mestre de Mozart e Weber. Sua escrita é clássica (perfeita) e elegante. Observem a riqueza melódica e instrumental além é claro, da beleza das partes vocais. Obras suas foram confundidas como sendo de Mozart.
