One of the earliest clarinet concertos by the Bohemian composer Johann Stamitz is an example of the rococco elegance style transitioning from baroque to classical. Still a staple of clarinet repertoire even today, having several challenging technical passages througout which the clarinetist herein executes flawlessly on an early clarinet with only few keys using cross fingerings (which I detect hearing the tones, having performed this concerto myself on such a clarinet). The recording itself sounds like the clarinetist was standing distant from the microphone, burried by the orchestra. I prefer the soloist more exposed as if listening from the 1st row of the audience. Otherwise an enjoyable recording, thank you for posting it!

Always nice to hear the physical keys of a clarinet recording.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that's just the sound of the fingers, since period clarinets had minimal keys.

@@iks.7048 I would assume a combination since the A and E keys should still be present, but I’m not so sure with this performance.

@@NFStopsnuf After re-listening to some solo parts, it does sound a lot like keys.
