This song is taken from their 1989's album called Raksasa. The album at least had two more hits : 1. Cendawan Kuning 2. Raksasa if you like Menjilat Matahari then I believe you'll like those two songs as well. Really interested how you react to them.

I think, Godbless is the 1st Rock Band in Indonesia, and till 'Europe' with Final Countdown, had inspiring the new generation era '90 of rock band in Indonesia, like: POWER METAL, POWER SLAVE, EDANE, VODOO, BAYOU, GARBY, GANG PEGANGSAAN, ZAMRUD, UCAMP, DEWA 19, BOOMERANG, etc.. and Solo Rock singer like: NICKY ASTRIA, ATIEK CB, IKANG FAWZI, MEL SHANDY, ANGGUN CIPTA SASMI, HENGKY SUPIT, etc. So, next the 2000 generation era like: PADI, JAVA JIVE, PETERPAN, TYPE X, etc.

when i was kid still listen their song from Album 1975. My Parent is like Godbless Fanatic Fans. Also my Mom Like Ahmad Albar (Godbless Vocals) Until now young generation still perform with their song in School Music Event like Bis Kota and Kehidupan. They Godbless just released a music video for the new newly arranged version of their song Musisi from their second album Cermin (1980) (that's more progressive compared to later albums) for their 50th anniversary album Godbless - Anthology. In this 50th anniversary album they rearranged some of their biggest songs with orchestra classical instruments marked their legacy as the greatest Indonesian rock band. This record was released in the 80s if I was not mistaken...the vocalist Achmad Albar was still very young back then.....I love this Band...the song " Menjilat Matahari " means " Licking the sun "...

Jadi kesimpulannya reaksi orang asing ini ketika mendengarkan lagu dari band Godbless, dia langsung merinding karena mengingatkan pada soundtrack di film Rocky di era 80an. Dan dia perpendapat musik era 80an itu lebih berkualitas dibandingkan musik era sekarang. Dan dia berharap semoga musisi di era sekarang mengikuti musisi2 di era 80an, termasuk band Godbless. Most of the older generations think like you. It's not just the older generation, maybe there are some younger generations like me who prefer old music compared to now. Hehe..... bisanya anda bilang sprt itu, anda lahir tahun berapa....?? klo hadirnya musik Pop mirip2 dengan masa lahirnya musik Rock yaitu klo di luar negeri di era Elvis Presley.... dan cikal bakal musik Rock di blantika musik Indonesia itu jg jedanya pun gak jauh.... dengan hadirnya musik Rock dan POP di luar negeri.... bisa saja sy sebutkan Band2 apa saja era itu dari tahun 50an di Indonesia tp akan kepanjangan klo dibeberkan disini sedangkan Dangdut hadir di negeri ini jauh kesinian jika dibandingkan hadirnya Musik Pop maupun Rock... yaitu disekitar awal2 thn 70an klo tdk salah mendekati thn75.. hrsnya klo anda lahir di awal2 60an taulah.... singkatnya... dimana wkt itu orientasinya.... katanya... berdalih mengantisipasi musik asing (musik barat ) padahal mereka sendiri juga dari budaya asing (India,dan bkn pula Melayu) dan yg di sasar dikalangan bawah dgn berbagai cara dimana mereka banyak yg awam ... dan sejak itu pula dunia musik menjadi ajang persaingan tidak sehat akibat adanya oknum2 yg meng atas namakan pemusik tp sebenarnya lebih memPolitisasi musik yg harusnya netral menjadi ajang adu domba.... hanya krn ulah oknum2 yg ingin ngeTop tp dgn cara2 yg tidak sehat dgn memanfaatkan ke-awaman masyarakat bawah yg fanatik buta....

@@gilebenerluh4778 memang benar dari 60an akhir sampai 80an musisi rock di Indonesia belum bisa dibilang mainstream. Bahkan penjualan album Godbless yang Cermin itu jeblok hanya terjual 10 ribuan copy. Itu juga mengapa banyak band rock Indonesia terutama tahun 70an di album rekaman mereka kebanyakan isinya bukan rock tapi lagu pop dan balada, karena para cukong di era itu meminta mereka banyak merekam lagu pop dan balada karena lebih laku di pasaran. Band-band rock Indonesia saat itu hanya memainkan musik rock saat show di panggung, itu pun kebanyakan mengcover lagu barat. Baru di 80an akhir dan puncaknya di 90an musik rock mulai dinikmati oleh masyarakat awam yang lebih luas.
