Can someone explain to me what's happening around 1:01:04 ?? Correct me if I'm wrong, as I've never seen / touched a Denon deck, but I'm assuming all decks have similarities. Both deck 2 & 3 are playing (I can see both have volume up), but deck 3 is on a loop (around 15 seconds, or 8 bars), while deck 2 continues. I've heard John talk about his sets, and he hints that he will loop something to give fill out another track, or even loop a piece of the track playing with itself to change the mood of it. I'd love to hear him talk more about this, because I think it's genius, and also shows how much is actually going on behing the deck. Hey any DJ's out there, is this something that commonly happens during a set? There are a few other places in this 4 hour set where it looks like something similar is happening.

I think at kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJa9kqh8bpWXi7M John activates a previously setup loop, to do exactly what you said. I noticed the same thing and yeah, that is genius. Allows him to smooth out the transition into the next track. I'm guessing this is part of what makes John's journeys so good. More like your listening to one long track rather than a mix.
